Disagree. Again, Clev did some good work, but a lot was pitter patter. Fonfara landed the more telling shots. In that round and throughout the fight. The right guy won. Although 116-112 was a shade on the generous side to AF, a draw would have been generous to NC. Wouldn't have argued with that either.

Fonfara did beat him up but certainly did not outpoint him. Anyway this won't go anywhere like this so I'll leave it at that.

That's fair enough, I never said this was a robbery anyway.

Leoh and I aren't even arguing that Cleverly won the ****ing match it was a draw, Cleverly outworked him in 5 to 6 of the early rounds and he may have stolen 1 or 2 or of the latter rounds all in all that adds up to 6 rounds he won by outworking Fonfara, I don't care how much damage his ear and nose sustained a guy can be a walking corpse in rounds 7-12 and if he stays on his feet and won rounds 1-6 it means it was a draw. Matches are scored on a round by round basis not on who looks better at the end of the fight.

Effective punching doesn't mandate each punch count the same bub, so yeah, in my book he did outpoint him, although he may not have outlanded him. Clev was just touching him alot of times. I think he was losing steam. A great effort on his part, considering the pounding he took, snd the broken nose. His stock goes up despite the loss.

I don't know who is saying that about who looks like what at the end. Cleverly got beat up at the end, not based on how he looked but based on the amount of hard leather he was eating.
I had Cleverly up going toward the end, based on his early showing, but there is no way he won every round 1-6, and I thought he was gonna take it, but he just didn't land enough meaningful shots to take the rounds from AF, who WAS landing meaningful shots in bunches.

Yeah. The swing is a single round as I see it. Acceptable variance.

Btw if I didn't know these 2 and someone asked which of these fighters moved down from cruiserweight I'd say it should be Fonfara. He looked a lot bigger than Cleverly.

Lol even Cleverly is now saying that he thinks the 115-113 card for Fonfara is about right in his post fight comments. He thought he was winning until the broken nose and I think he's right. The fight started to turn a little bit before that and it was not clearly his to begin with, with perhaps him edging by a bit. Clev is more honest than some of you. /Thread

Artur Szpilka was commentating this fight for Polish TV, he's good friends with Fonfara, he said Andrzej told him his walking around weight in between fights is well over 200 lbs (around 98kg), this astounded me, and makes me wonder how on earth his guy drops down to 175 and still takes so much punches with ease

    This.

Polish Hussars were some of the most fierce cavalry to have graced the battlefield during the second millenium A.D. They'd be top 10 P4P for sure (but below Ukrainian Kozaks of course :D). Real Hussars would have looked terrifying for enemy troops. Granted the cheap replica consume he wore hardly conveyed that.

that wasn't a draw, clev was outboxed for stepping up again. his face was battered, and his only good bits were calzaghe style pitter patter.

he should aim for euro title and stick with defending that,

another loss for nath whenever he tries to step up.

And he arguably could have lost by the same score, or even by a 116-112. A range in scores from 7-5 Clev to 8-4 Fonfara would be entirely acceptable given the number of close rounds. So, calling the scores BS in a close, either way fight is a bit harsh, imo.

I thought Fonfara closed strongly, and landed the better, cleaner stuff late to break open a tight contest.

We guess what that probably means my score of a DRAW is the most appropriate one.:deal And no its not harsh.
