Ali was a pitbull too.

He would go out there and whup your ass.

So it's not just about boxing. It's about showing that you're the toughest dog out there.

 

Of course not. But like i said, this was a showcase fight, not another elite opponent. When you are that much better, you should get the ko or at least put forth some effort to do so to put on a show for the fans.

 

BKB has a smaller ring/Pit and most people don't really care. It's considered a novelty.

Boxing in a normal sized ring will always reign supreme.

 

He didn't seem to venture too far from Rod to me either.

It's times like these I wish there were more in-depth stats on boxing fights. We see lots of punch stats, but I'd be interested to see stats on average distance between fighters and stats on footwork (ie which direction they generally moved in). I'd be willing to bet it would end most of the 'he ran away' stuff.

 

Then when he emphasized how "extra ordinary" Lara is...that's doesn't mean what he thinks it does...I get it, they aren't professors.

I also liked when he introduced himself as "The Champ, Antonio Tarver."

 

I don't agree to "rings should be smaller, fighters shouldn't run" thing but if Lara wants to get big fights and become a star, he really needs to put on better performances.

 

That's why Keith Thurman is being pushed as a star.

Dude has talent, power, and he's not afraid to use it.

 

I don't think anybody doubts Lara is a great fighter.
But when you wish to call out the Mayweathers, Cottos, etc...(big money fight) you have to make yourself marketable.
That is just a reality in this sport.

 

People talk **** about Broner, but I don't see Broner run. I like watching Broner fight.
