Happy to do it, you missed a fairly decent card, the Beterbiev match was very interesting, it showed as I've thought for a while Beterbiev is far from unbeatable, and the Lara match was a brilliant display of skill but Delvin being too afraid to press the action is what made it seem dull to some fans.

Lara didn't run. But why did Delvin not attack? Because he knew he would get ktfo if he did. And Lara let him off the hook. That wont attract fans.

It's much harder to evade in a smaller ring. You have to use more energy.

When the ring is large enough, and you already have superior reach, you're an opposite stance fighter, and you're extending yourself to gain as much leverage over your opponent as possible, it's relatively easy to stink out the fight as long as you have at least MODICUM of punching power.

Just a reset punch is all you need.

Just enough to barely stop your opponent, and score points and stink out victory.

You make the ring smaller, you have to work harder. You give your opponent more opportunities.

    Do you disagree?

If this wasn't the case, then they might as well make the ring size a football field.

...he doesn't want to have being a star handed to him, and nobody is going to hand it to him even if he does knock out a Delvin Rodriguez.

What he keeps saying he wants is to land a big name in the ring, as he deserves and has deserved for some time on merit & ranking.

Once he lands those big names in the ring, then will be time for him to "switch on" and shine and make himself a star.

Wtf is the point of annihilating poor D-Rod? What does that gain Lara?

    To hell with attracting fans.

No boxer has the responsibility to be a boxing salesman.

No they don't. It's up to each fighter to determine how much he's willing to risk. And frankly tonight, pushing the gas for Lara entailed little risk because he was that much better.

Szpilka too featherfisted, everyone else would have knock this opponent already out if he could land that much.

"Robbed"? Come on. That was a razor close fight and i thought he could've done more. But again, this goes back to who he is. A guy who hates to take risks. It is who he is.

    Got robbed?

    What did he do?

He didn't try to make the fight.

    He RAN in that fight.

He didn't do much of anything.

    He didn't take ANY risks.

Something I see people forget a lot, is you dont actually have to have legions of your own fans to make big fights.

There is a "B-side credibility" factor when it comes to box office and ratings success.

Lara couldnt draw flies to feces in his own right, but if you put him opposite Golovkin or Cotto you can bet all of their fans would be wanting to watch the fight as well as general boxing fans who know it would be a high level fight.
