January 6, 2000, 9 days prior to his fight with part-time stock car driver, part-time opponent Roy Bedwell, Thomas Williams Sr sits down and contemplates his future. The one time amateur star, fresh off his Knockout loss weeks prior to Quiet Man John Ruiz.

This was the begiining of the end for Williams. Racking up wins against over classed opponents, many of them fitting in the paid opponent or palooka ranks. But the biggest fight of his life would take place a mere four years, 5 months and 19 days later. After his fight against Richie "The Bull" Melito, the once proud Williams was standing opposite corner from the federal government.

Williams was charged and arrested for fight fixing, the first United States boxer, to face such charges.

Williams son, Thomas Williams Jr, is an up and coming light heavyweight boxer. Tonight the younger Williams steps in the ring against Cuban Umberto Savigne.

In a weird, numerology twist, I decided to research what transpired on this site 4 years, 5 months and 19 days ago. And I discovered it was May 27, 2011, a day of infamy, if you wish....the day that the (in)famous IB RBR Disclaimer was born.

Therefore, tonights RBR will house an old school vibe, complete with the orignal RBR Disclaimer.
