I used to detest Mayweather, but he was simply brilliant that night.

This and Hopkins-Trinidad are the two stand-outs in my mind. Tough to put one over the other given how brilliant Mayweather and Hopkins were. Difference might be that Trinidad was a better fighter than Corrales as cobra mentioned.

I voted it being top three .

Number 1 for me is clear

    Calzaghe vs Lacy.

JC was an underdog in this one and Lacy was just blowing fighters away . I was at the fight in Manchester and it wasnt close.

He shouldn't of taken the fight. He was weight drained beyond hope...

BUT, EASILY, Floyd's best win to date...

Both were established as top fighters by this time. I'll say it's the best of this era, yes.

Chico was #5 lb 4 lb and Floyd was #7 lb 4 lb when they fought too. Chico the slight favorite. I actually thought Chico would win by KO up until the weigh in.

Still have to go Mayweather-Gatti in terms of a clinic, Even though the scorecard here would be worse. At least Corrales landed something here and there. Not much and nothing that hurt, but the Gatti fight. I can't think of one shot that Gatti landed that amounted to more than a weak ass range finding jab.

Legendary performance from Floyd. He was really ambitious back then. Would take on everyone out there. Pity he ain't like that any more.

Corralles was much bigger than Floyd and a far, far better boxer than Gatti. Corralles had blown away everyone in his path up to that point and Mayweather beat the living crap out of him. Much better performance when you take everything into consideration.

The Gatti annhiliation was brilliant and heart breaking to watch.

best? dont think so, you have consider the opposition. Hopkins - Tito was more impressive imo. There are other examples too like Barrera - Hamed, Pacquiao - Hoya, Hopkins - Pavlik, etc. It may be top 3 but theres probably some other fights we're not thinking of either.

Barrera Hamed is right there with it..

Pacquiao De La Hoya:huh..Oscar was not even ranked

Hopkins Pavlik..LMFAO-Hopkins was ranked as a top 10 in the world at the time while KP was a 160 champ.

Hopkins-Tito is a good comparison as is Barrera Hamed:deal

Hopkins Pavlik and Pacquiao Hoya are not:deal
