Lederman somehow gave Trinidad the 1st and the 6th. Lampley said that was generous and I'd agree wholeheartedly. Hopkins won every round in the fight going on the correct scoring criteria, although yes - he did get hit with more shots by Trinidad than Mayweather got hit with against Corrales. Trinidad, however, was a superior offensive technician to Corrales, more experienced, and Hopkins was older in that fight than Mayweather is right now.

All in all, I'd say those two are the two best displays of the decade with very little between them. Mayweather showing brilliant skills, ring generalship, movement, timing, solid power, and incredible athleticism, and Hopkins showing much of the same minus some of Mayweather's handspeed and athleticism, but also showing more old-school foot-feints, hand-feints, side stepping, and displaying a seamless integration of defense and offense on the inside.

Both underdogs, too. May have been understandable at the time given the aura around Corrales and especially Trinidad, but it definitely seems foolish now considering how Mayweather and Hopkins are considered some of the most skilled and rounded fighters of all-time.

I didnt hate Floyd back then use to watch him on KO Nation back in the day, he fought back then and acted more humble, since he moved up to fight Gatti he turned into an ******* with a chip on his shoulder....

I didnt think Chico would win that fight actually was a Floyd fan back then... thought Chico had no chance, especially while he was facing prison time
