A friend of mine posted this:

May-Cotto cracks top 10 gates (not including ppv sales)

    1. Mayweather-De La Hoya (2007): $18,419,200
    9. Mayweather-Cotto (2012): $12,000,150

Compare gate figures for boxing and MMA in Nevada. The No. 1 MMA gate was the $5,397,300 generated by Chuck Liddell's second fight with Tito Ortiz in 2006. That doesn't even register on the boxing list.

I think Manny cracked it though...they had a grip of fans show up for Margarito Pac and Clottey Pac..just more seats.

Manny don't fuk with Floyd in the payday section though..he gets 7.4 million for Cotto while Mayweather gets 32 million for Cotto. Very big difference...more than 4 times what Manny makes..Manny can't even make 30 million w/out Floyd, while Floyd breaks the purse record without Manny, of 53 million.

Why is that though? I mean, it looks like Pac is loved all over the world and it looks like PBF is like Camacho. Some want to pay just to see him lose. To generate that kind of money is impressive. I will take just a little from PBF though. I mean, Oscar and Cotto also bring to the table. When PBF fought Oscar, Oscar was still in the big leagues at 154 and Cotto today is revitalized with the win over Margarito and his new trainer. Anyway, it is amazing.

I wouldn't trust the difference in paychecks. PPV buys are probably a better measure. I think Arum takes 30% or more, and I'm sure the pay is structured differently.

man Im tired of explaining to dumb people like you, that just believe anything Mayweather says, the $7.4 million guarentee that Pacquiao gets is just what is shown to the nevada commision on the day because some fee has to be paid to the fighter on the day. in reality Pacquiao has made $25-30 million in his last few fights, go do your homework and know the facts before you make comments like that.
