yeah but what happened after floyd beat hatton and cotto beat mosley? my point here is, even if floyd doesn't retired, he would not be the fighter of the decade if he would avoid the competition at that time at 147. :deal

Floyd is bigger than Marquez. Size differences are part of boxing.

JMM highest was 141. Floyd has weighed 150 but he's down to 146/147.

Because he's settled there Floyd will take punches differently?:lol:

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

Floyd was saying he was going to take time off after the Baldomir fight.

And was planning on it after the DLH fight but saw the money in the Hatton fight which is another fight everyone wanted.

    But let's look.

After Floyd fought DLH at 154 for his 5th title.

Cotto had beaten Urkal and Quintana.

Margo was coming off his close win over Clottey.

Mosley was coming off his win over the same Collazo Hatton had beat.

Who was there after Floyd beat Hatton?

Just Cotto, who in the last rounds against Mosley looked horrible?

Mosley had lost, Margarito just lost to Williams.

so these are the official excuses why floyd did not fight these top welters? floyd could have fought cotto after he beat hatton. cotto had beaten shane and is the top welter aside from floyd. floyd said he will retire but come back to fight hatton. he does not want a piece of cotto back the.

Would Floyd-Cotto have been anywhere near the size of Floyd-Hatton?

    That's why.

    Because they all needed to.

All 3 of them had not done a lot when they hit the WW division.

so jmm-floyd would be the size of floyd-hatton? floyd-cotto might not be as big but it was a fight between the 2 top welters at the time and it would certainly be bigger than floyd-jmm fight. :good

so floyd beating baldomir and judah means he has nothing left to prove at welter? and don't make this like i'm critisizing floyd's opposition. i'm just stating the reason's why floyd, even if he did not retire, might not be the fighter of the decade. floyd still has a good and impressive resume but would not catch up to pac if he didn't fight the best welters.

No it doesn't but he was planning taking time off after that fight. The world wanted him to fight on and he fought in the two biggest most wanted fights at the time.
