Why would he give someone who talked down about him, insulted him and said that the win was a "fluke" a rematch?, he told him to get some decent wins if he wants a rematch and now that he beat Cotto the fight makes perfect sense. Team Margarito know that the much needed hype Margarito has now will drown and drown royally if he fights Williams soon, so they're looking to make some much needed money(no, not pride and legacy I'm afraid ) before a fight with Williams is basically forced.

Yeah because Margarito represents boxing as a whole all of a sudden. I saw those fights you mentioned but did many people follow up?, did enough people give a damn?, I'm talking about casual fans and boxing as a whole. The answer is obvious why, there were far better opponents out there and an undisputed WBC/WBA/IBF unified champion that he never fought, that's why he remained on undercards and only recently made serious PPV thanks to Cotto.
