    For the record, Ricky Hatton is a world class fighter and has a hell of a chance in this fight. Look though my post I do not discredit Hatton or his will to win.

    i'm not a particular fan of ricky although being a brit i want him to do well,but the hugging theme gets a bit wearisome because apart from a couple of fights it's bollocks.

    Its the Jon Thaxton fight. Thaxton is a decent Euro level fighter with solid skills and a very good punch but no more than that. Hatton was cut badly very early (1st or 2nd round IIRC) but adjusted and boxed very well to get a clear decision. Hatton had operations after the fight for the cuts and to file down his prominent eyebrows.

    At that point in their careers Thaxton was considered a genuine threat to Hatton, he'll probably be Amir Khans next opponent after Graeme Earl assuming Frank Warren has the balls.

    Thanks for the info. I've never seen Ricky cut like that so I think those operations worked, even in the Muassa(sp?) fight it wasn't that bad and those were some mean headbutts.
