Its never too late dude. You can box in the amatuers until you are 34.

As far as focusing; I actually got **** grades in high school (I just didnt care for some reason). I then decided to do a 2 year tech degree which was really easy. Then when I got a great job and started going back to school part time I started getting really good grades. I dont know what happened, but I just started to care I guess  . Must have grown up or something. Its funny how all of a sudden it can just hit you, and you say "I need to get my **** together". Now I strive to get the best grades I can. Actually come to think of it maybe boxing whipped me into shape.....I used to be really lazy and now im the opposite :think

This is most likely true. Mayweather really hasn't fought anyone that would make you sit up and take notice. Not one. The 'name' is Oscar - but we all know that Oscar is far more a businessman than a boxer these days (even if he did put on some sweatpants for a bit in order to get ready for this fight). That fight was more a joke than anything else - it was closer to Rocky and WWF than to a boxing match. All about the money.

Having said that, I do think Floyd is a talented boxer, but he really hasn't proven it against anyone that stand out. I think no. 50 ATG is being VERY generous for someone who fought druggie-Judah, 15-seconds-of-fame-Baldo, a retired version of Oscar etc. The best name on his CV is Hatton and Hatton with all due respect is not exactly a wizard in the ring. Hatton is a spoiler/brawler with good stamina. Not nearly as impressive as Floyd would want us to believe.

Theres a whole nother half to boxing.....its called offense. And every guy you mentioned arguably has a better offense than Floyd and is more active. Not saying they are better, but it is a give and take thing. Floyd isn't perfect

No never boxed, but I'm trying my hardest to get an internship with Top Rank. I live in Vegas and UNLV is trying to help also. I have dreams of being a promoter, but I never try to work with Floyd. And yes I now him very well along with his family. But thats another story:good

Do they punch faster than Floyd? NO
Are they more accurate than Floyd? NO
Do they miss more and leave themselves open to being hit? YES
Do they have more P4P power? Cotto/Pavlik probably, Calazage doesn't but if Floyd threw the kitchen sink at someone without regard for being countered he'd get more spectacular KOs himself

Anyway Floyd is a level above them.

I agree with you but Floyd had something else, handspeed.
Pacman is probably the fastest in those mentioned earlier and he wasn't at the same level as Floyd in term of quickness.
Furthermore, in his early days, Floyd was one hell of a offensive fighter as well.

I don't like the man but he is definitely right when he says he is ahead of the others.

I have a hard time saying "he is ahead" of the prime Cotto in front of us. P4P prime I would favor PBF over Pavlik, Pac, JC and Cotto no problem. But the current Mayweather (at 147) against a prime technically skilled pressure fighter like Cotto loses imo. We are talking CURRENT, so therefore I just don't think he is a level above Cotto

    Really ? That's interesting :good

What about getting an amateur licence and try it ?
As my friend said, you can box in the amateurs until 34

Well, Cotto is definitely the man to beat right now. I don't know how he would do against Floyd but his style fit perfectly to make a huge upset.
I would favor Cotto as well for his punching power and his workrate along with his body punching ablility (the best since Chavez).

A shame that this fight won't ever happen...

Speaking of lunging - have you ever seen Cotto fight? I don't want to shock and disturb here... But he lunges with almost every shot. Is the fact that Hatton was lunging bad then? It seems you're implying Cotto would be well served fighting in this/his style, yes?

Thats true, but Idon't have the time to box and just train like that. wITH my busy scedule, but than again if I stay off this site all the time I might have time its 3:50 AM in vegas lol. But honestly I want to just learn the business side. But you know Floyds quote hardwork, dedication, and prayers. I guess that's the only good thing I can get out of him thats positive
