Just down at the RSL in Burwood. I know what you mean about the the Kessler Calzaghe fight though, my prediction didn't go well, but come fight time I'd spent too much time hanging around Blocky and Amsterdam... wasn't confident Kessler could win, just wanted him to

    Yeah true.
I was relying on Kesslers jab to dictate for the majority of the fight. I never really contemplated Calzaghe beating him to the jab, I just didn't think it'd happen.

    What next for Hatton?
A fight with Judah perhaps? or maybe DLH, or Mosley?

    So did I.

Was confident Kessler would win until the day before when I looked at his fight against Mundine again.
Got really disheartened when I saw the difference in confidence levels between him and Joe when they were walking out to the ring.

He should look to 140 pounds, a warm up fight against a decent opponent, then either jump into a great UK fight with Witter, or look to bring Malignaggi over to his backyard. I'm predicting Hatton won't enjoy the success he did previously though, he could lose either of those fights, particularly against Malignaggi, Witter wears down late, so Hatton just needs to work the body and take him into deep water (Witter's got a great punch so it's a bit harder than it sounds).

Yep, wow, I didn't think PBF would KO Hatton, but he did.

I picked Hatton to win, but I knew from about 30 seconds into the first round he just wasn't going to be able to trouble PBF with his pressure like I thought he could. Still, he kept coming and coming at him, and landed a lot of punches, but PBF wore them and showed little effect, and stayed cool and composed.

Major props to PBF - I was extremely impressed with his demeanour after the fight, there was zero trash talk or arrogance from him, and he paid a lot of respect to Hatton.

Props to Hatton too, he took his first loss well.

That's me off for a month, I lost a bet in the main forum on the result of this fight, so I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and New Year, and see you in 2008. :good

PS - yeah, Lacy looked pretty ordinary, he's there to be hit far too much, and seems to freeze up when his opponent throws combos at him - I think Calzaghe ruined him.

    merry xmas mate!
    i agree Lacy looked ****?
mayweather needs to fight cotto then call it it quits, what an amazing talent.

What really shits me is Mundine has got such a similar style to PBF and keeps fighting these ****ING squatters. He better fight in the U.S next year? What a waste of talent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Say it aint so?

I need some support in the general forum. Even though I was cheering for Hatton, I can't let his supporters claim that the refereeing standard was the worst ever, especially after the battering we copped from commenting on the refereeing of the Tszyu/Hatton fight.
