Be real with yourself. You could make an argument for Ali, easily. But no way would I or anyone else want Durans skillset over Floyds.

fact is. Duran prove his skillset against PRIME SRL, buchanan, benitez, hearns, hagler...all hof/ATG.

Floyd proved it against past prime fighters. it isnt even a contest.

I got james toney pure SKILL set over floyd everyday of the week. floyd just works harder and has a great knack for cherry picking opponent.

I would take mayweathers over james toneys. But i'd take prime roy jones over mayweathers. Same with hearns but mainly down to his height. Leonard could finish people better. But all things being equal mayweathers got to be up there with the best of them. Its hard to compare because offensively theres been a lot better out there but defensively theres not many imo. Put both his offence and defence together again theres not many either. Due to the fact theres not really been that many atg's that mainly concentrate on defence first and foremost. Would go as far to say floyd mayweather broke boxing. For as good as he is...he will always have a frustrating style that most would struggle against some of it down to his freakish reach. I say hearns would have beat him. But not too many others.

He is the best of his generation and he would hold his own against pretty much everybody. But for me he'll never be remembered and shouldnt be remembered as guys like hagler, hearns, leonard, duran even pacman. But he might have beat all of them imo barring hearns. His skill sets as good if not better than all of them. No one can even hit him clean. He's stopped pretty much everyone he's fought in his tracks. But for entertainment he's not breaking the top 100 thats for sure. But it's hard to knock at the end of the day because skill wise theres not many better. There's no way to defend some of his punches. cant even prepare for it coming.

People might see that as crazy that he'd beat duran for example but thers not many that he hasnt stopped coming forward. Pacmans pretty relentless and maybe the marquez ko had a bigger effect on him that what people first thought...but even then. He had manny hesitant to throw. And it's been the same story pretty much all his career. You cant always just put it down to a lack of effort from the opponent. Maidana done the best the first fight...but i look at ariza being in his corner for that fight as suspicious. He wasnt in that type of condition for the second fight when ariza was gone. Plus it was almost super human at times imo. Great effort from maidana in hindsight. For me he won the de la hoya fight convincingly and castillo he clearly had a problem with the shoulder. Hes not really had to struggle to badly with the rest of them. Judah for four rounds. nearly Everybody else he's nullified

It's a shame we never got to see him against fab 4 type competition. No one denies how talented he really is. But to see him pushed to his limits, multiple times against that many caliber fighters is why you can't put him higher than them . They would have made great fights, that's for damn sure.

If you watched Duran's career, which you haven't, you'd know he had some tough fights with an excellent boxer named Esteban De Jesus when he was a lightweight. Excellent bouts for those who have not seen them.

The man wasn't unbeatable, neither is Floyd. Duran was a bit of a brawler, and while a stealthily skilled boxer himself, was not as "well rounded" as Mayweather was.

In regard to a "h2h matchup," anybody who is being honest has to say "Floyd is right there" and that is a pick'em fight. And the odds change depending on the weight class I think. There is no wrong answer as to who you think would win, as long as you admit it would be highly competitive.

Duran was an underrated boxer he was no brawler.

his skillset made him Middleweight champion of the world something floyd wouldnt ever do because he doesnt have the skill set as duran.

My only issue with him in the lighter weights is he had brittle hands for certain matches. Not something you can actually control.

As far as his offense, defense and ring generalship? Hard to say, he's one of the few fighters that has the complete package. There's a lot of great offensive fighters who were great ring generals, but they didn't possess the elite level of defense that Mayweather has.

Probably only a handful of guys can make a strong claim as to be as skilled or slightly more skilled than Mayweather.

I think Rigo's offense is a level above Floyd's. Footwork, too. This is no insult to Floyd. Rigo is THAT amazing. But Rigo's chin is mad shaky.

    Tyson

His entire career fought guys much bigger

Mike Tyson's defense (especially in his prime) is the mist underrated I have ever seen

His jab was really great too

Yes he had that one shot ko power
    He had combinations
    He had great timing
    He had mad speed

    Everyone on here picking Floyd

    Show me Floyd's killer instinct
