Roach said Mosley would have to come down below 147. Shane's a big WW, so I don't know about that ever happening or Cotto (who would have to get past Clottey of course). I think it's all BS and they know the fight to be made is the winner of Marquez/Mayweather. Really, where else is Pac going to go. If he fought Mosley or Cotto and lost then the bigger fight which is Mayweather goes down the tubes.

    :hi:
PBF is never scared. That is why he backed up from a rematch against DLH ,eventhough he was going to make more money in this fight than in
    any other fight.

Roach aint stupid. He's just talking ****. Mosley might hurt Pacquiao. Fight lil Floyd, 2 of the biggest stars, easily the biggest fight this decade.

You know the sad thing is that's probably true. One fight in the summer and then you don't want to fight till next year?? :patsch:verysad ****ing ridiculous... but that's how these big boxing stars do fights these days, unfortunately.

Well said :good He knows that going right at Pacquiao who is more busier in the ring then he is is a dumb move. From a business respective fighting Marquez is a good move for him because he know he can win this fight, make a lot of money and get exposure on 24/7 to set up a match with Pacquiao !

The "average boxing fan" (ABF) only knows Mike Tyson.

ABF: Who is Marquez? Isn't he Mexican?

ME: Just happens to be one of the best 3 P4P fighters right now. Technically gifted with heavy hands in his weight class and great defense.

    ABF: What's P4P?

totally agree with this, Mayweather is a smart guy and with Pac making all the waves now, he needs to get his foot in first and get people remember him. once he does, then he can go after the mega fights

I really want Pac to beat Mayweather, but my head says he won't. still, if there's one thing Pac has proven, never, ever count him out :bbb

I don't see how Marquez is any easier for Floyd than Pacman. You know damn well Floyd won't knock Marquez down early (or even try to) and that was the only difference between winning and losing for Marquez against Pacquiao. Marquez is far more aggressive than Floyd and it is going to be a very interesting matchup, both very technically skilled. I would think the more aggressive counter puncher has the advantage over the more defensive-minded counter puncher. Then again, we are talking about Floyd here. Floyd is the favorite and will probably win, but I bet he won't leave as pretty as he came in.

It might not matter anyways. Make no mistake, the next opponent for Pac will be chosen by Arum, NOT Manny or Roach. And Arum wants to do Pac-Cotto, because since he would have both sides of the fight he keeps 100% of the promotion.

100% of a medium-large pie is more than 50% of a large pie

I'm a bit annoyed at Floyd for not fighting a welter, but business wise, taking JMM is obviously sending a clear message (cynic hat back on for a sec: especially if he makes JMM come up 22 pounds) and building towards a classic fight.

If his motivation is to be considered one of the greats of all time, if not the greatest of all time, then it's not just JMM and MP he needs to fight - He needs a Paul Williams/Cotto/Mosley to stretch those superlative skills.

I'm looking forward to Pac and May too, it's a closer fight than either extreme of opinion will pick - But if that's the direction he wants to go - Pac - Then he's setting it up with some good business accumen.

I guess the fact many are saying he's got a lot of debts kinda destroys the "Pac is 300 million liquid" or whatever that BS figure was being thrown around on here in January.
