Throw a steel cage around it and have every belt imaginable hanging from the top.. Straight WWE style 3 vs 1 handicap match PBF vs middle weight titlist, LHW titlest and wlad. If he walks out of that, then he would get 100% respect.

Now your drifting..The fact still remains that Cotto has beaten credible welterweights...dominated fighters that Floyd had trouble with...While it may be easy for children to pretend that he doesnt need to fight Cotto...Most intelligent boxing fans realize and naturally understand the contrary...only nuthuggers at ESB are blind to the obvious:-(

Yes he has to. But the biggest problem might be Arum.

You have to understand that boxing is not all about KO's and TKO's. Cotto is a walk down fighter that destroys opponents bodies and then goes for the 'kill'. Mayweather picks his opponents apart finding the chinks in their armor and 'exposing' their weaknesses. Different ways to victory but obviously both ways are effective.

Not sure I understand how Arum would be a problem:think This fight would make more money than PBF-DLH 1 and 2 combined....I can't even think of a PBF fan that would rather see PBF spar with DLH again as opposed to the most meaningful fight since Leonard-Hearns:think
PBF-Cotto will break records everywhere if it happens:good

Because Arum is thinking on the long-term: He knows there is quite a possibility Cotto loses and then Cotto's stock will go down. So why not milk him out a little more and make some easy millions against Gomez and Mayorga and THEN put him in with Floyd.
Arum does that when HE wants to. When HE thinks he has enough. That can take 1 year but also 2 years.

    Well, just my thoughts:good

I agree with you 100%...I respect Floyds talent and ability however if you want to talk about accomplishments and quality of opposition I become critical....This would change if he fought Cotto, who's a true WW warrior who's been tested and never shyed away from anyone....is quick and powerful...can counter with the best as well:good

Not only what you said, but Arum is trying to get the mega unification fight not just a hyped fight. He wants the PBF v Cotto bout to be bigger than the PBF v DLH bout. That will happen if Cotto grabs the remaining straps and brings them to the table. 09 it will happen. Or PBF will retire and wait until Cotto gets old ala SRL.

He doesn't need to beat Cotto to get respect he's already a top 30 ATG. Cotto would add to his legacy but he doesn't need him to complete it.

Also I find it funny as well that you picked Hatton to beat PBF now you're jumping on the Cotto bandwagon.:hi:

PBF was a great SuperFeather....sorry but how does beating Judah, Baldomir and an old DLH(who he struggled to win a SD) make him a great Welterweight?

Um . Floyd dosent need anybody right now. Cotto needs FLoyd more than Floyd needs Cotto. Boxing need Floyd more than Floyd needs Boxing.

Right now- hate it or love it. Floyd has a right to take off some time- and sit back- and let the others fight it out to see hwo the best is - to earn a shot at him. he s earned that privelage. Its only us diehard thirsty fans who want to see floyd fight every single guy in the division back to back to back- in the hopes that he may actually be challenged and have to struggle to win. But lets face it- he s holding all the cards right now- people have to come to him- they ahve to earn the right- to fight him. He s got that seat now- really he is the face of boxing- or at least he s beaten all the faces of boxing- which is even better.
