PBF needs to beat Cotto to get 100% respect

pbf is former ibf 147 pound champ and current ring/lineal and wbc champ

 

He also won a vacated title. Which was vacated by Hatton.

So technically. Cotto has a title that is truly Mayweathers. So basically Cotto is a contender with a title.

 

That's sad but that's real. So Cotto needs to push and get PBF to fight him.

 

Oh thats right he beat Judah for the IBF belt. Zab was stripped of the WBA title after he lost to Baldomir. The belt was never PBF. It was vacant as you said. Cotto is representing the WBA very well.

 

Did I miss something? Isn't PBF allready fighting DLH in Sept.? If this is the the case:

PBF is a crazy like a fox. He's setting the table. Not fighting till Sept. gives him: time to rest, time to stoke the flames of Big $$$$$$'s, and time for all the other welters to beat the Hell out of each other. Come Sept. Floyd's gonna win an even bigger UD against DLH, and hardly get touched in the process. Cotto should come out of the PBF sweepstakes tourney on top, but look what happened to Williams the other day. Once the dust settles, then Floyd will take on the winner of the sweepstakes the 1st quarter of 2009. If all goes as Floyd plans, he will win the 2009 fight, whether it's Cotto or not won't matter, and then he can retire in peace if he wants as he will have beat the current best of the best of the welters. It does not make me happy, but it's brilliant.

 

and what if Margarito beats Cotto, Frauds gonna come up with a nifty excuse to duck him again.

 

If Margo beats Cotto. Then Margo will have beat someone worth mentioning.

 

WBA stripped him. Collazo won it. Hatton beat Collazo. Vacated it and Cotto picked it up.


Therefore, Cotto is merely a contender.

That's some interesting logic there. Too bad it's flawed. Number 1, Collazo was the WBA regular champ before Judah was stripped. He was elevated to WBA champ once Judah was stripped. Cotto is a champion, plain and simple. A paper champion, but still a champion. He is the holder of the WBA belt, therefore he's not a contender.

Contender's don't have belts, Champions do. They're called contenders because they're contending for a title. Therefore, belt holders are not contenders.

 

Only an idiot would try to suggest Cotto is not a worthy opponant.

 

But we all know who the true champion is. It's not the HW division where there is no true number 1.
