I think Oscar's most important fights are Hernandez, Gonzalez, Chavez, Whitaker, Quartey, Trinidad, Mosley, Vargas, Hopkins. That's 9 imo, and he lost 4 out of the nine, the Trinidad fight really being a win as well as second Mosley fight.

So that's really two losses in nine most important fights.

I can't disagree with that. Although I see Hopkins as a step to far, it would have been the best win of his career, but it was never likely to happen, for various reasons; primarily size, style and sheer ability of B-Hop. I agree with the rest of the names, although, not sure about Hernandez in the overall context of Oscar career, I might go with Mayorga instead as a quality "comeback" and "I can still do it" win. Hernandez was on paper a top quality win though. Although I'll never understand why he quit like he did.

His nose was busted in something like 21 places. He was swallowing blood. That's why he quit but he was giving Oscar hell in that fight, that's why I rank it highly. Had Oscar not busted his nose imo Chicanito would have won by decision. He was the most highly skilled boxer Oscar had faced until then and I think would not find such a problematic style again until Whitaker.

The facts are Oscar carefully chose opponents, most were past prime, undersized or had serious problems with the weight. Oscar typically added 15-20lbs on fight night against opponents who weighed in around the same as the weigh in weight. Allot of fighters do that now but Oscar was one of the first

You don't think Oscar thought about Hopkins '39yo MW champ, slowing, lets make him coem down 3more pounds and make him dead at the weight like Leonard did to Lalonde?', why not just fight him at 160 if its for the MW title? It backfired but that was Oscar's plan to drain an old man

Vargas was down in all his 3 fights prior to facing Oscar and looked like his chin was shattered FYI

And yes Ocar chose to fight Hernandez and Gonzalez at 135 and 140 making him far bigger and stronger than them on fight night, neither were top fighters at 135/140

PBF should just keep his mouth shut. He obviously is just looking for attention with his 5-year-old mentality. Ellerbe will rob him blind soon enough though, and he'll be back in the ring.
