I agree with a lot of this post to an extent. I might have worded it differently, especially the part about what Oscar wouldnt fight Margarito. But essentially he is right, the scenarios in there sound pretty believeable to me. 2009 is gonna be another good year, thats for sure.

How is boxing dying with all these great fights?

yea, and it's funny cuz B-hop has said worse things, yet he gets more admiration than floyd does. probably cuz he wins fights he really isn't supposed to. but yea, i agree with you.

I did read everything.. Basically what I was saying is that I don't think Floyd was going to come back to fight either Cotto or Margarito if Oscar would have fought them, nor do I think Floyd will ever fight them in the future.. If Pacquiao would have never fought Oscar and won, I seriously doubt Mayweather would have came out of retirement.. When Mayweather retired, who cared really? Pacquiao's in the spotlight now, an ATG climbing the ranks, and who just demolished Oscar.. Now Mayweather wants to come back because he thinks he can beat the smaller Pacquiao.. I'm not into big money fights.. I never even wanted the Pac/DLH fight to begin with, but instead I wanted Pac to unify at 135 or fight Hatton instead..

Tried to be funny, sadly you look pathetic with that.

    Williams KO1 Quintana

That's what real fighters do, they immediately look to avenge a loss. They don't run around claiming everyone is ducking them when they have half a dozen losses with 0 avenged and 0 ATTEMPTED to avenge.

boxing is dying because as much as we love these guys fighting and fights potentially being made....the public wants the awe of the heavyweight division.. guys 6 ft and up who are completely monsteres and will destroy you and actually instill fear in your mind..... boxing is doing ok but for the mainstream to embrace boxing again the heavyweight divison needs to be alive

bhop gets more respect because he never had 1 let alone 3 guys floating around a division close to him at the same skill level that he could fight to really establish a true champ.... the closest you could say to that for him was jermain taylor or tarver... who arent really comparable to margarito, cotto, & pw

margarito will be remembered as the guy floyd mayweather and oscar de la hoya wouldnt get into the ring with

**** fighting cotto a second time, its pointless, he beat the **** out of him the first fight, wasnt even close.....

but think about if cotto beat margarito & oscar

first of all he would have been #2 or #3 pound for pound probably above joe calzaghe and his name would have been WELLLL ESTABLISHED IN the mainstream for destroying oscar (beacuse we all can pretty much figure that cotto would have whooped oscars ass) the opprotunity for floyd would be to great to turn down...

he would have his career defining fight ( a winnable fight as well ) and the fight would have easily sold anywhere from 750k - 1.5 mil buys.... with the right promotion & 24/7 or whatever... plus i think we can all also agree on floyd is mr 24/7 .. the show just isnt the same with out him....

everything would be set into place ... for one of the greatest fights if not the best fight in the past 20 years....

in my opinion floyd was dying for cotto to win... but cotto just couldnt pull it off...nothing against cotto but he missed out on a lot of opprotunity

maybe to us.... to people who watch espn before they go to the office (average sports fan) they wont give 2 shits about margarito...

he wasnt even considered a p4p fighter before cotto
    barely had any championships
    no big ppv appearences

i mean cmon lets be honest here.. the guys a great fights but hes still getting his feet wet as far as establishing himself as a monster in the boxing world... we all know he has the skills to do so ... but along with the skills comes the names on that resume which he is somewhat lacking... if he can dust off shane and cotto again he will be on the verge of being boxings next big thing

someone asked me that in another thread and my opinon is

after thinking about it further if margartio wants to fight floyd hes going to have to do a lot of fighting in 2009 because floyd isnt get any younger and hes desire to really retire will start to become real ....due to aging

someone suggested that oscar may fight margarito in late 09 or soemthing... its real doubtful but if that happened and the fight was exciting that might be enough to lure floyd as well

It was only last year that I have had the time to be more involve in boxing. The first things I've read here on ESB(I wasn't a member then) was how great FMJ is; that he is the greatest for the past ---years; how he is the goat. Then you can also read how his fans/supporters ridicule all other fighters.
Now, I have to admire FMJ for his great achievements but sad to say that I can't be totally sold out to him untill he has proven his words that he is the "GOAT'' by fighting the best at WW.
If only he hadn't been that boastfull or that his fanatics had been a litte bit rational then maybe...
