Well, call me crazy, but I find it hard to blame Pac more for the fight not getting made. Both guys deserve some blame, but the brunt is on Floyd here. All Floyd had to do was the EXACT same thing he did 40 times before. Now you can say Pac is to blame for not giving into Floyd's never-before-asked-demands, but I tend to side with common sense and consistency. Or maybe you agree with Floyd on wanting to "clean up boxing" but we both know Floyd is more full of **** then a crapper. Answer me this, do you think Floyd would have made the demands for blood test if his dad never mentioned Pac and steroids?
The only thing that matters is THEY AGREED ON 50-50. Besides, ALL fighters try to get more money in the beginning of negotiations.
And he also rushed away from Floyd negotiations to ink the Clottey deal in like two days.... Thinking that putting it in Texas Stadium would be such an event, it would upstage anything Floyd could do in the meantime... Still more hopes of gaining leverage... Then the Shane-Berto fight got cancelled and Arum was like...atsch
After having read all the replies in this topic (10 full pages) I can finally share my thoughts. First of all, what does PPV have to do with the split? Both of them have to fight. Without one another, the fight won't happen, so why not just share equally? Second, if ppv is so important. Why doesn't HBO just make the option to submit for whom they buy the fight for? For the fights sake and their sake (this fight happening means alot of money for them too). Thus, everything everyone is saying about previous fights and ppv sales is irrelevant. It's not the total number that would matter but the percentage of people voting for a fighter. Let's say PBF - Mosley gets 1 mil ppv and Pacquiao-Clottey does 0.75mil. But 56% buys for Mosley and 56% buys for pacquio. Altough the total sale will be less, he will have 6% more interest in his fight and PBF would have -6% interest in his fight. Not that they should be added, but you could say that's a 12% favour for Pacman ;p (but we won't do this). Furthermore, I'm a pacman fan, but respect PBF for his fighting style. I don't respect PBF for his big mouth but I don't respect Pac for his fear of needles. But I respect all of you for contributing your thoughts. I don't see why you would fight and argue or call people names over their Idols? Just seems childish to me. Doing that starts hate and hate starts war. Well money starts war, but that's not to be discusses here. Furthermore, we don't know how smart both Pac and PBF are. Maybe all this drama is just a game they BOTH play to get more PPV sells. We don't know. Last but not least, I don't want to fight or argue with anyone, but that **** about America being the native language and everyone should just learn it is total bull****. Did you know the dutch language lost the battle with just one vote less? If it was one vote more you would've been ought to speak Dutch... well I'd like to see you try. Just to add, I speak and write Dutch fluently. I can speak and write English and IMO it's pretty good. I can speak and write Serbian, even the Cyrilian letters. I can read and understand German (altough I can't speak it properly or write it). But this is all because I've been able to learn it at school while I was young. Pacman didn't get the option and I doubt he has the time to just go to school again to learn American. Btw, do the American's speak the native language of Iraq? Or Afghanistan? Or all of the other countries they've invaded/had war with? I don't think so. I don't like that American arrogance at all
First off, pac is a role model to not only is country men, but to many Americans. He'd be doing them a favor and himself by learning to speak fluid english. Like I said, English is the universal language and it's almost a crime not to speak it when you're so close to the American culture as pac is. Now for Americans athletes to learn other languages isn't relevant seeing as everything they do revolves around their country. Sure, they may go and take one fight, or play one game in another country, but they're not spending enough time around that other culture to warrant the need to learn their language. I would assume this is a given but you obviously need a little help with this issue. And reading subtitles, BTW, isn't exactly quality movie watching. But again I thought this would be a given for anyone. I would personally hate to be from another country, not understanding English and having to settle to watch Avatar and focus on the subtitles rather than the incredible scenes displayed throughout. But I guess that's just me  I don't give a fuk about another language because I don't plan on visiting other countries or communicate with people other than english speaking people. If I did, I would get my ass in gear and learn their language and that's for damn sure.
haha lol you got the article for when arum called mayweather, hitler? :yep anyway mayweather can forget a massive payday if it isnt 50/50
I think Floyd is just so pissed that Pac was unwilling to take a test that he was also taking that would not affect his performance in the slightest. Everyone is so quick to say this is floyds fault but all pac had to do is take a damn blood test 2 weeks before the fight. How ridiculous does that sound.
**** it, the fight will never happen and we all are wasting our time talking about it. This **** is getting old for real. **** Pac and Floyd, I'm riding on the Mosely band wagon now, and he's gonna knock out Floyd and then Pac. After that we will never have to hear about them again, unless its about how Shane knocked them the **** out.
Floyd gave Pac a chance and Pac became greedy and then backed out. If you want to fight Money Mayweather then act like a gentleman or you will not get the chance to fight Money Mayweather!
LOL. That is one dumb reason. Ghandi is a hero to many Americans, do you see people learning the various languages of India? You live in North America, I don't see you learning French (Quebec) and Spanish (NY, Florida and SW USA). That is another dumb reason. WTF??? Not quality movie watching? Yeah it is just you. Can't chew gum and walk at the same time either. For crying out loud, I know a twelve year old that watches movies with subtitles. For chrisake, even HS students watch movies with subtitles. Really, only people who have limited world experience who are limited in your POV. You think not hearing the English language is some kind world ending event. So if you don't care with other languages, and you don't have any experience interacting and living with it - you are not really in a position to judge are you? You are coming off as some ignorant, lazy and arrogant douche. I can't believe you actually consider traveling to other states as some kind of cultural experience. Here in the US, Canada is considered than nothing more as the 51st state - ironically people like you.
