I think a crossweight will have to be made for this fight. I'm pretty certain Pac gets slaughtered at 147, and PBF is not going to want to drain down as far as 140, certainly not against the most dangerous guy for him at that weight.

    Thoughts, comments?

    140 would be stupendous.

Will be 147 for sure though.

Manny is a belt holder at 147 and if pbf beasts mosley he will be a belt holder as well, why would they fight at a different weight? Anyway not sure if mayweather can beat mosley this may anyway so it might be a mute point.

the way I see it even if Pac is disadvantaged at 147 he can still win the fight. At 140, where Floyd is disadvantaged, it would be a wipeout.

Even at a catchweight somewhere in the middle Pac will win too easily.

If you want a really competitive fight, its 147. If you wanna really determine who is the best p4p fighter its a catchweight somewhere like 144, and Pac takes it easy.

    147. He's a champ at welterweight. He has to act like it. A champ who would only be willing to do catch weights should be stripped of their belt in that division.

i think the opposite...Floyd should knock him in 10 or 11...Manny is careless when he comes in off balance...just watch what Clottey did when he actually threw his hands and countered..Floyd and Shane both ko manny late

Bull****. Pac is the stronger fighter at 147. Pac carried his power to 147 and can hurt real welterweights. Floyd has not carried his power and has never hurt a real welter. Thats one of the reasons for Floyd's accusations of Pac juicing. He cant beleieve that a natural light weight like himself can hit that hard at welter. Floyd still hits like a lightweight. Ill give him all the credit for being able to win fights at welter against welters with his skill but he cant hit for **** at 147.

Mayweather can't make 144, let alone 140. Not that he can't force himself to make such a weight, but he'd be severely weakened.

147 is the only way. Which is a disadvantage to Pacquiao who really, isn't a welter weight anyway you look at him. He can eat all he wants, he'll never be a true welter. 140 and 135 are clearly the best weights for Pacq, but since he's THAT good, I'd give him a decent chance versus a Floyd that I think is no longer at the very peak of his game. Too many glamour fights and breaks.

Why is that out of the realm of possibility to you?

You once clamored that a close UD for Floyd against Hatton is "at best"

I agree but let's face it, 147 is suicide for Pac, whereas 144 is eminently achievable for Floyd. Pac's only victory at that weight was against a slobbish Oscar.

I love PBF and DO want him to win, but I'd rather see a fight at a FAIR weight than one at either extreme that favours one fighter over the other. It's the only thing to do with fighters at such different stature.

He should have never stepped up to the welterweight division then if his size puts him at such a disadvantage that he has to call for catchweights against the best. Him and Roach go off all day about how they only play by comission rules, so they aren't going to take Floyd's tests. They should take their own advice and not try to create a new weight class.

And I agree that he's not a true welter. His head gets snapped back way too often. Cotto's jab was able to do it. I see a possible late round KO happening to him if he fights Floyd. Kind of like Mayweather vs Hatton.
