You could have him at 1, hes got a better case than Marciano or Dempsey He also has the closest fighting style to Floyd of the great HWs
Not a fair comparison Ali was(to put it mildly)way past his prime Holmes was a ATG and is imo a sound top 10 HW
Holmes did well againts Tyson for 3,5 rounds ....No boxer could have beaten Tyson in 1988.........:bbb
I put Holmes at 4th spot. Only behind Ali Louis and Marciano. So it's not complete BS what Floyd said. Maybe he meant, form the Heavies who he grew up with. Then he was nr 1 for sure.
floyd is a fool and doesent know what he is talking about ,,, although i do think he probably deserves his p4p ranking,,, he is still a fool,,, he must get it from his uncle, has anyone read those roger mayweather interviews on this website? they are so bad,, roger is such a moron and ****** they both deserve to be beaten by a mob of angry russians or something. oh and china joe,,, that picture is the scariest/ gayest thing i have seen in my life
Holmes defended his heavyweight title 21 times (second only to Joe Louis), and only really overlooked the challenge of Coetzee in my opinion - He was a great champion, with heart, speed, power, and great mobility/agility for such a big man. His jab is among the best there ever has been in the heavyweight division (Perhaps 2nd only to Listons), and he was greatly respected by fighters of his era, and sparring partners - One whose name escapes me claimed from first-hand experience, that he was better than Frazier and Ali. Personally I rank him on the fringes of the top10, but ranking him No.1 is not absurd, especially Head-2-head. Anyone that says there is "no case" is talking out of their ass.
Lubbers ook. My point was that anyone could've beaten Ali that night, he could barely throw a punch. He should never have been allowed in the ring.
If only we had the technology to teleport Peter Manfredo back to Joe Louis' era, so we could truly test Louis' greatness. My only concern is that Manfredo may not be the same fighter he was after that vicious *****-slapping he took from Calzaghe
Which is more likely? The middleweights back then were superhuman and good enough to fight HWs or that the HWs were dire and the best middleweights were able to face them?
