Floyd's my favorite fighter to watch. He could've and should've KO'd Marquez, let's cut the bull****.
Marquez was ready to go. THe Ko was there that's pretty much undisputable. Mayweather landed 50+% of his power punches to JMM's 12%, there was no reason for May not to up his output and finish that fight.
I thought Mayweather said that he wanted to ko Marquez . I thought he said it on 24/7 . Something about being dissapointed if he couldnt ko him.
Floyd was clearly just playing with JMM for 90% of the fight. He didn't want to crack JMM's chin and ruin him forever. JMM is one of his favorite fighters to watch. Or maybe Floyd was just playing it safe. I'm not sure which.
JMM is naturally a counterpuncher, he does better with people coming at him so he can unleash his combinations. There's a reason why a much lesser fighter in PBF (Chris John) took JMM to the limit, he doesnt like fellow counterpunchers too much. Even an old shot Casa was pretty even with him before the KO...and KO'n Floyd wa sout of the posibility from the beggining.
So?, is this the FIRST Mayweather fight you watch?. He didn't KO Judah either and Cotto did, Mayweather isn't a puncher, he's the type that goes the distance and if a KO comes then it comes, a KO is NOT in the gameplan. Might want to give Marquez credit for staying there, every time Mayweather jumped him he punched back, even after getting up from the knockdown he was there to fight and try till the end as he said he will do. Pacquiao didn't KO JMM either and he did't KO Larios moving up TWO weight divisions to make that fight as well coming off a TKO loss to Vasquez TWO divisons below EITHER. Smoke on this.
Nonsense, JMM was trying all the way. There were times were you could see Mayweather seriously trying to finish it but JMM keeps coming back and refuses to go down. JMM does this in ALL his fights, I was surprised to see him do it against Mayweather two divisions above but that's where credit goes to JMM rather than negativity towards Mayweather. JMM is not a tomato can to be talked about like that and he has proven it numerous times.
...because he is scared of opening up like the greats from the past have done. PBF takes no chances, and that is what has hurt his career. He has the talent to be one of the greatest, but PBF gets easily scared.
The difference is Pac was going life and death with JMM while Floyd was in second gear the whole fight, he could've turned it up, got off the back foot a little and ended that fight, we've seen him do it before. Deciding not to for whatever reason was a mistake plain and simple.
Mayweather is 1st and foremost a pure boxer. No one ever picked Whitaker to win by a KO, you knew when he got in the ring his style was to circle, working the jab to set up his lead left and right hook, same sequence for 12 rounds. The same goes for Floyd. You know his plan is move side to side, jab to the stomach settting up his leaping left hooks, baiting his left side to set up the lead right hand, same sequences over and over until MAYBE a KO presents itself. I was surprised at the punishment JMM took last night, a true warrior.
Against a 147 lbs Mayweather as we saw this past saturday a 140 pound marquez is a ****ing tomato can. That fight was floyd's easiest in a LONG time. He could've and should've finished him.
We've seen him walk down Judah and stand toe to toe with Chop Chop. It's in him, those two gave Floyd a much rougher time than JMM. He could've ended it.
