    This.

Marquez trained like hell and has an iron will. Lesser fighters in that same situation give up, try to fight outside of their comfort zone and leave themselves open, or succumb late to the physical punishment. Even when Floyd cornered him in the 10th and 11th, Marquez was hanging in there looking for counters. And in the 2nd, Floyd recognized that Marquez was buzzed more than hurt, so he only pressed the advantage so far.

Just because the odds were hugely stacked against JMM doesn't mean that those odds diminished his toughness. The man never lost his warrior spirit, and we should respect that.

I also think that contrary to popular opinion, Floyd's offense, especially his trigger on the straight right, was just a touch slower than it was two years ago.

I respect his unwillingness to quit but Floyd should've beaten him into unconciousness or forced Nacho to throw the towel in. I mean Gatti was a warrior but Floyd refused to let that fight go the distance. I say again, he could've and should've stopped Marquez.

If you think Gatti was even remotely equal to Marquez, you've got a lot to learn.

But if will was the only thing holding Marquez up, Mayweather could've stopped him like I said. I could see if he was afraid of the big punch or something tangible but Marquez posed no threat in there.

Your arguement that Marquez has more skill then Gatti means nothing in relation to fighting Mayweather as against him they both had zero success so as I said, he should've stopped Marquez as well.

According to some, because he took it easy on Marquez.

Marquez, unlike Gatti (who I hate dumping on at this point, so please, let's wrap this up), had other options available to him against Floyd than blocking power shots with his face. Floyd recognized this, and fought accordingly. And it's not as if Nacho won't stop a fight in similar circumstances. Look at the way Pac - DLH ended.

If you really believe a skill disparity had no part in the difference between the way PBF - Gatti and PBF - Marquez ended, I really don't know what else to tell you.

The only thing that was controversial about the decision is the fact that it was a split decision....

You misunderstood what I meant, you defended Mayweather not finishing marquez by saying that Pac couldn't do it either. I said the difference is pac couldn't finish Marquez, he went life and death with him, while Floyd clearly could've finished him. Saying that Pac would've made it easy is flawed, we both know Pac finishes fights, it's what he does best. When he is overwhelming an opponent he finshes them, Floyd chose not to and that hurts his marketability.

He was hiting JMM with 59% of his power shots, Gatti couldn't have been doing much better. What skills were a factor then? His skillset at 135 obviously meant nothing against a 147lb Mayweather. The reason Nacho didnt' stop it is because Floyd didn't decide to punish JMM and send a message like he should've. If you're landing at that high of a percentage with nothing dangerous coming back at you, you need to finish the fight. Again, this was Floyd's mistake.

JMM is a very tough durable fighter as well. And he's an excellent counterpuncher so theres no point risking it by going all out when your coasting through rounds anyway.

Scar, I usally agree with your post but comparing DLH-Pac and JMM-PBF cmon now. PAC fights had more action and excitement. DLH was the one not throwing ounches.

On the second Statement, Pac like's to exchange no matter if its easy or hard.. I thought you knew that being a Pac fan too.

Mayweather has ZERO killer instincts, ZERO.

Mayweather is so scared of losing his precious 0, that even against a lightweight he was unwilling to take the extra chance to finish in spectacular KO fashion.

He cries because people do not respect him, but if he would atleast attempt for the KO, he would be more liked by both the hardcore and casual fan, and he would make lots more money.
