When was the last time a guy who was the p4p champ, was this close to his prime and was the bigger guy got beat? I think that if Hatton wins this fight its the upset of the decade. can anyone think of a bigger one?

    I certainly can't.

This isn't to say that its gonna happen and I'm not trying to suggest that floyds going down but I was just trying to put in context what a Hatton win would be?

and some people might say that rahman lewis was a bigger upset. But that was a fluke and the only way that ricky's winning this fight would be if he beat PBF into submission, which would be no fluke. And this would be much more impressive.

I don't think it would be THAT big of an upset. Though I expect Floyd to be able to handle anything Hatton brings, I still expect Hatton to force the action and make it tough. I wouldn't have a Jones-Tarver II moment if Floyd lost.

 good but hagler wasnt in his prime.

also when Henry Armstrong was collectiing titles...

theres alot of times the smaller fighter came up and took the title from the larger man.

sugar ray robinson amost took it from joey maxim but heat got to him.

That maybe true. The one thing that has to be said is that 147 is not floyds prime wieght.

But you still have to consider how hatton looked the last time he fought at that wieght. And once you consider that I think its back to being a huge upset again.

Also I'm not necissarily talking about upsets in terms of "**** didn't see that one coming" because when you can't imagine a guy winning and he does its often that he won by fluke knockout or something. I'm talking about the magnitude of accomplishment, which is an upset because it defies the odds.

I guess the last one that I can think if that was bigger then this would have to be douglas tyson. But that was a once in a life time preformance for him. Where as a hatton win would be more of a defining momment for a good career.

Yeah if it was that kind of win I don't think that I'd rate it as highly, inless he could biuld off of it and show that it wasn't a fluke.

Rees beating M'Baye was way more of an upset , even most Welsh people didn't think he'd last the distance let alone dominate M'Baye .

If we're talking of upsets on a larger scale Hatton against Tszyu would have been much larger .

Floyd really isn't much bigger, he is taller, but Hatton is clearly the stronger of the two, so pure weight difference wouldn't really come into play.

Hatton ain't bigger than PBF...PBF started at 130, and has never been a true welter...Hatton has been a full-fledged 140 his entire career, and he weighs more than PBF on fight-nite...

I dont think floyd is bigger than hatton. Pbf was 148 in the ring for hoya, hatton was 149 in the ring v castillo. Hatton has been coming in the ring at 156/157 for many of his 140 fights and his father said against catillo his weight was lower in the ring because he didnt take as much time off after the urango fight and didnt blow up as much as he normally does...Hatton is a genuine solid 140 and i think thats all pbf is,the advanatage pbf has physically in his reach and height.....Do you guys think floyd has lost a little in speed from his days at 140 or is it because he has mainly potshotted somewhat defensively in his last two fights v much bigger fighters?
