Actually, that was a fairly ignorant claim. If he had said that Floyd is 'better' than Naz, I wouldn't argue. But in terms of talent, Naz is one of the most talented people to ever step into the ring, just like Floyd. His natural punching power in itself is something Mayweather can only dream of having.

We still havent seen anyone test Floyds chin. Hes soo talented noone has given us an idea of how good it is. Maybe if Floyd fights Cotto we will know.
Naz had possibly the all time best punch in the division. A freak like Hearns. I would love to have seen him fight Pacman and Floyd

    Naz was something special.
He had no orthodox technical ability at all but his crazy speed and freakish power was something special.

Its just too bad that he got soo cocky and barely even trained for his latter fights.

Silly thread. The only question here is ho wlong PBF would toy with Naz before KO'ing him.

I know. His power was absurd considering his size, but meh. I really can't stand his style, it's ridiculous and was just waiting to get "exposed" (I don't like using that word) by a real fighter (Barrera).

The egotistical prancing pretender never did it for me.

    Yeah, a FREAK show.

Naz was at his peak around 1995/96 & considering he never even made it to 130 & floyd is 1 of the atg`s at 130 & has won world titles all the way to 154 beating some of the best fighters in each division then I really dont see this being much of a contest at all.

If barrera could outbox naseem using the simple basics of boxing, what do you think mayweather would do to him. Mayweather would tear through barrera easily who as you know won a clear ud over the prince.

    NO CONTEST.... MAYWEATHER TKO4 HAMED.

No no, we have seen PBF hit flush a number of times. Castillo in the first fight caught him, and we know he had power. DLH caught him, Judah certainly did. It's fairly certain at this point that PBF can take a punch. I think most assume that since he is a defensive master at not getting hit, he may not be able to take a great punch. Not that you have, I just notice the trend.

I thought his style was quite entertaining due to the way it tossed the boxing textbook out of the window -- might just be me, but I always find unorthodox fighters interesting. As for his personality, I'm not saying he was a great guy (hell, my personality is pretty much the opposite of his) but I do think that people let their emotions get the better of them a LOT when evaluating Naseem. These kind of 'fantasy matchups' should be objective.

Rational sensible post, youd be hard pushed to predict/justify anything other than a Floyd victory, but people saying that Floyd would Ko him early are just so wide of the mark its ridiculous. Naz had his faults and as many have pointed out they werent addressed at all when he left Ingle for Stewart, but his power was truly freakish, he had very good hand speed and a pretty good chin considering how many times he got caught flush.

I always wanted to see this fight but if I remember right Naseem wasnt too keen, although by all accounts Floyd was

You're right, but when talking about a fighter like Hamed it's hard not to let his personality come into it somewhere. You are also right in saying his style was interesting. It was, but for me, not in a good way... more like a "WTF is this guy doing!?" kind of way. There is only so far you can go with a style like that. If it worked well we'd see more people utilizing that style. It doesn't work against a solid boxer, even just using basics, that's why he had to swtich to orthodox at times. It doesn't work, it's just "show off" based and it entertains the crowd and feeds Hamed's ego.

Floyd would KO naseem easily. Yes Naseem was fast but FLoyd was faster at 130. Hamed had power but so did Floyd at 130. Floyd also had an 8 inch reach advantage and way better balance. Hamed's pwer would be pretty ineffective against Floyd who has a solid beard when he fights 140 pounders just imagine against a guy whose most loyal fans say he went to high up by going to 126. Also floyd punches straighter so that combined with the reach advanage that I mentioned before means that his punches would get there well before Hameds wider shots.

I really can't see how anyone thinks that Hamed would even be competitive here. Easy KO by floyd in which he probably outlands hamed 5 to 1 and wins eveyr minute of every round before the KO

Give me one reason to think that Hamed could hurt Floyd. We never even saw him above 126 a weight which his most loyal fans say was too high for him. a weight where Marco antonio Barrera said "he doesn't hit as hard as he thinks he does". Floyd was unfazed fighting one of the hardest hitter ever at 130 (corrales) whom even though floyd throughly outboxed him, did connect a couple of times.

Hamed did have freakish power but every fighter has his limits. For the perfect example look at Alexis Arguello. P4P one of the hardest punchers of all time with one of the best punching teqnques you will ever see but there was a limit to how high in weight he could carry that power as Aaron Pryor was able to demsontrate

Hamed had a cast iron chin. Not an easy KO. As I said in my first post, Floyd would out-box
and out-point him, just as Barrera did.
