Irrelevant. The question was how many great fighters did Marciano fight that were in their prime. Lacy is not an answer to that question for Calzaghe.
Hopkins is better now than he was when he was at his 2001 absolute peak??!? You don't know what I'm talking about?? I'll explain again then, you will see it's very very simple: Jeff Lacy was never anything even approaching a great fighter. Therefore, when the question is regarding great fighters who were in their prime, Jeff Lacy is not an answer, and so mentioning his name is utterly irrelevant. Do you get it now, or shall I go on??
You're getting mixed up between excitement and effectiveness. U need to look at the whole picture instead of thinking about the TITO fight.. U can say that now about Lacy but back then, he was a bonafide titlist who was about to enter top 10 PFP list.. And who the hell are you to keep telling people that their comments are irrelevant? :roflatsch You're no Historian, that's for sure.
You idiots should never post a thread like this here as you dont know much about boxing history or the sport. This belongs in the classic section where the knowledgable fans are at, not here where the Joe C and Mayweather fanboys abound. I wipe my ass with this thread. example no Lopez and the crack about who Marciano fought who was in his prime! total morons makes me sick, the supposed knowledge of the idots who sometimes post here
'Who wins, Foreman 'vs' Wlad?' 'Wlad is two inches taller, he takes this easy' 'I agree' 'Cool. I love these in depth debates we have; not like the idiots in general' 'We're awesome' 'I know'
If you think Bernard Hopkins is a better fighter now than he was in 2001, then you don't even merit debate to be honest. That's an opinion which expresses a dire lack of knowledge and understanding of this sport that cannot be easily corrected by a few informative posts. All I will say is, ask any other Hopkins fan or any other knowledgable and sensible fan, and you will get the same answer. You are very, very wrong. Lacy may have been a bona fide champion, and he may have been borderline top 10 p4p (he wasn't, but for the sake of argument we'll say he may have been), but you still aren't grasping this very simple fact: Those points ARE irrelevant because the question was not asking for a description of Jeff Lacy, the question was asking about GREAT fighters in their PRIME. Jeff Lacy was never a great fighter, so his name IS totally irrelevant with reference to the question asked. I am closer to being a historian than you are to being a good poster on this site, judging from your inability to understand a simple question and horrible misreading of the career of Bernard Hopkins.
