Mayweather TKO4. Might seem a little early considering Mayweather's pillow fists but my reasoning is I think Conor is smart enough to realise his only chance is an early blitz leading to a KO. Of course he will fail, get terribly gassed and then just be eating flush shots leading to the ref stopping it.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission and any commission in the US should've been the adults in the room and refused to sanction the bout. The best boxer in the world against someone with no boxing experience simply shouldn't happen, and it wouldn't if boxing commissions had any 'authority' beyond bending over when promoters tell them to. I agree with Hopkins that this legalised assault.
Mayweather UD. It's like a tennis player against a basketball player in a game of basketball. The sports are too different for it to be interesting. That said, Mayweather is very cautious, old, and about to retire, so I suspect he'll avoid any unnecessary risks and just go for a boring decision rather than a KO. Although perhaps McGregor will gas hard and wind up getting put down. Regardless, my feeling is simply that Mayweather won't take any risks for the sake of a good performance.
I'll go with TKO5. Mayweather clowns him through the first three, probably could've stopped him by then but carries him a bit. We thought this was a mismatch but it's worse we imagined, Mayweather can't miss if he tried to. McGregor falls down after a Floyd feint. By the 4th Floyd goes for an offensive show, puts together a couple dazzling combinations, mixed with bolo punches, McGregor goes down twice, once from a body shot. From shots with solid power but nothing that would've put down a world class boxer. In the 5th Floyd's attack works McGregor's head like a speedbag, and McGregor collapses in the corner, ref stops it without a count, more from the frightful punishment than the effect.
I do think for it to not look like an embarrassment for him and boxing Floyd will carry McGregor. But for the same reason if he's able to have his way with him he'll probably go for and get a stoppage at some time. Not extending his punches and throwing 10 a round would look as bad as a first round KO.
My feeling is that he simply wouldn't care if it looks bad. All he wants is a blemish free 50-0. Getting that one KD probably bothers him more than getting a UD against some amateur.
Clearly you used time travel technology to go into the future and actually see the fight because this is far too detailed.........
Remember when Maidana knocked Mayweather's tooth out with that huge counter right hand?? Mcgregor has zero chance at winning. Like you said Malignaggi TKO Mcgreggor. Malignaggi hurt Sam Egginton, Eggington is 1000 X's the boxer conor is
This talk of how hard Floyd hits is almost irrelevant. Mayweather is an elite professional that has been fighting at the highest level in the sport for years. His lack of finishes isn't necessarily due to his lacking punching power. Forget punch stat numbers. Top level fighters are difficult to hit with the kind of shot necessary to render them unconscious. All it takes to hurt an elite professional is this much power: This content is protected Manny Pacquiao isn't china chinned and his opponent in that video doesn't hit harder than Floyd Mayweather. As his record indicates, Pacquiao is way better at doing that to his opponents than they are to him. Conor McGregor is not an elite boxer. His defense will not be that of an elite boxer. McGregor will be in trouble as soon as Mayweather starts trying to hurt him. Oscar de la Hoya was an Olympic gold medalist with an amateur record of 234-6. De la Hoya was 18-0, and had been a Professional for 2 and half years before he fought for his first legitimate world title. Ok, f@ck it, Oscar was 12-0 when he fought for the WBO belt. Conor McGregor doesn't have one amateur boxing match. This is not a contest. This is a money making event.
Floyd will stop him if he wants, but I think he might coast to a decision so McGregors stock doesn't take too much of a hit.
