It would be difficult to counterpunch Floyd, which is JMM's bread and butter. He's just too fast with his hands and feet and his defense is tops. That would be a bad style matchup for JMM.

This would be a chess match basically.

Yeah for JMM. High speed chess. For Floyd, it's a cakewalk. :hey

Yeah. But I think JMM would still land some good counters. But I think PBF would fight him very close, inside. If PBF wanted t shut him out, he would fight him inside up close, to eliminate all those counters.

Absurd, nobody has yet to respond to El grancampeon's challengelto name a better fighter than JMM that Mayweather has faced......

......where are all these people who cite that Mayweather is in a different league, yet fail to name a single fighter who's as complete and who at the time Mayweather faced him, was fighting at the top of his game?????

If Mayweather is in such a league, why did he in the prime of his career (both physically and money making) go into hiding, avoiding such threats as Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, and Paul Williams??????

Could it be that Mayweather retired because the fighters I named are legit threats who are themselves in their prime??????

Sorry friend, but "easy pickins" just doe'snt fit with a fighter that retires at the height of his career to avoid legit threats!

He'll land but only rarely and not enough so he could change the outcome. Up close, Floyd is also a master inside just like he showed Hatton. Best JMM could do is to survive 12 rounds, but I expect him to get KD'ed along the way and bloodied and bruised. Floyd by TKO in the 7th most probably...lol.

He can name Muhamad Ali if it were true for all I care but it wouldn't make a difference. It's between Floyd and Juan Manuel in the final analysis and things don't look too rosy comparing their styles as far as JMM's chances go. JMM is really good technically, even p4p he should be highly rated but Floyd would pick him apart from the get go.

Judging a fighters worth according to their primes is hard to do. No matter how hard or how long we try to justify how we believe a fighter does based on prime, it won't be a credible argument because we don't really know that for sure. I'd rather base the discussion of two fighters on their resume, abilities and their styles, as long as both are still capable of fighting at the top level.

You've obviously missed Marquez' last several fights......he's shown he can do alot more than just counterpunch. He's shown he can fight effectively aggressive as well.......so it's not just about counterpunching with JMM. He can go out of that counterpunching mode and win as well.

Against MAB, he was for the most part the aggressor, and knowing that MAB would run and move away from him trying to win the fight on his jab alone, as MAB had done in the Rocky Juarez rematch.
JMM forced the fight, and made MAB have to counterpunch him........the strategy worked for JMM because MAB being forced to punch, opened up countering opportunities for JMM.
Marquez beat MAB by starting and finishing the exchanges.
.....I can actually see a similar strategy that could work for JMM against Mayweather.
True, Mayweather is alot faster than MAB, but Mayweathers workrate is alot less than MAB's.....
When Mayweather counters JMM, you can be sure, JMM will be thinking to counter the counter!

This kind of strategy worked for JMM against both MAB and Casamayor, and it worked when the great majority of fans in forums like these we're predicting that these fights would be borefests because the comabatants all liked to fight off the backfoot.
It was JMM who forced the issue in these fights and made them exciting for those that watched.

......JMM was sucessful in deciphering the issue that his opponent would be in counterpunch mode, and he made his aggressiveness work for him, and along the way, opened up countering opportunities for himself.

We're speaking of a master boxer here in JMM, I'm certain that Mayweather himself would'nt think of it as a walk in the park.

Yeah JMM has been offensive minded lately than he usually was over the majority of his career, but he'll be up a creek sans paddle if he goes in aggressive mode against Floyd. Floyd got impeccable timing and is not shabby with his counterpunching himself if you also care to watch his fights. I'd like to see JMM force Floyd to counterpunch him... that would be a reality check for diehard JMM groupies. Floyd's simply a more complete fighter, both offensively and defensively than JMM ever was or will ever be. I'm not even going into the physical disparities in size speed and strength where Floyd obviously enjoys the advantage as well.

I agree JMM did quite well against Marco, but the problem I have with that reasoning is that we're not talking about an ageing not so Baby Faced Assassin, we're talking about Floyd here. Against Marco he was getting tagged a lot especially in the early rounds, although JMM definitely got the better of most of the exchanges and had the upperhand as the fight progressed. He even went down when he got ultra agressive after he took Marco in deep waters. That was him and Barrera. Him fighting Floyd would be a different story. Don't even get me started on how washed up Casamayor is...hehe. Not only is Floyd thinking to counter, but he's got the ring smarts to lend most anything JMM attempts an exercise in futility. Floyd would just be too slick would be playing JMM like a fiddle until JMM breaks a string.

You were simply asking about the fixing thing all of a sudden the whole comment makes no sense?!

You were talking about ROBBED correct?!

LIKE I SAID A WIN OVER NORWOOD AND CHRIS JOHN DOES NOT MAKE PEOPLE THINK THAT ALL OF A SUDDEN JMM's RESUME is sooooooooo interesting ! :D

It would not change the perspective of the fans that WOW! Big deal!
JMM beat Norwood and Chris JOHN.... then they will change thier view
at ALL OF A SUDDEN - JMM will be the p4p king! All of a sudden JMM will have a better legacy and achievement compared with the other
    three boxing greats!

So do I have to watch all of JMM's fight?! After all, watching JMM's fight does not make him better than any of the three MAB, MORALES and PAC...

Yes, I know it's hard to swallow the truth that even for the sake of arguement that JMM won over the two HALL of famer :yikes  :rofl :patsch

JMM's accomplishment still lags behind the three..

    MAB,Morales and PAC..

I guess thats why he retired at the height of his career, he's such a master boxer, no one is deserving to share a ring with him!
