Wow, so me and a few friends ( about 20 of them) were talking about SUPERFIGHTS between GREAT fighters and 16 of the 20 fellas brought up the Mayweather vs Roy Jones Jr @ a catch weight of 160lbs. I thought about it and realized that would probably pit the 2 most LOUD Mouthed, Cocky, SKILLED fighhters since 1990 and the LAST 2 P4P Kings.....RJ is obviously the fighter of the 90's and Mayweather will be the fighter of the 2k decade. Talk about excitement and **** talking on the press tour leading up to the fight....i can Imagine PBF saying..."RJJ ur a has been, you wish you were me..im gonna KO u worse than Tarver:bbb "..then RJJ's rebuttle..."i'll beat you like your daddy used to do when you were a kid, and after the fight you wont be sooo pretty anymore:nono "..etc etc....I think this fight would sell more than DLH-PBF & Hatton-PBF......

all jokes aside I dont think Mayweather would have a shot @ RJJ....if anyone can match PBF speed for speed...skill for skill...it is RJJ......this fight is a must happen b4 I rid myself of this planet:hat

let me know what you boxing fans think!!!!:hi:

RJJ is still bigger, faster, stronger, and would beat Mayweather by 4-5 point UD.

Seeing that Mayweather started his career at 130, this would be a horrible mismatch, Roy is way to big. I disagree that Roy could match Floyd's skill, Roy never was a great technician, he was a great athlete. Floyd is way more technical, thats why Roy doesnt look as good now that hes older, he doesnt have as much technique.

it should be on the undercard of ivan calderon versus oscar de la hoya @ 140 alongside kelly pavlik vs. david haye at light heavyweight and manny pacquiao versus tito trinidad at 154.

Once again, this is not true. Jones had great technique and was a great boxer and technician. He didn't have TEXTBOOK skills. He was UNORTHODOX.

Athleticism does not teach ring generalship, counter punching technique, punch placement, footwork or any of the other boxing skills he had. It only augmented them. And his style was based off the combination of these two things mixed together. Once his athleticism left him, Jones refused to do what most fighters do and adjust his style. That's why he looks that way. No one can compete on this level without great technique and knowledge.

That's the question because Roy has to lose all muscle. He doesn't have any fat. Then it comes down to could he hurt Floyd after killing himself to make 160? If he can then There is no way Floyd wins but if Roy can't hurt him then Floyd would box circles around him at this point. It would be crazy for Floyd to take that fight though. Oscar never should've fought Hopkins and Roy has always been bigger than Hopkins.

so all those years till he was 35 RJJ just threw a punch in the air and he swung soo fast that it created a gust of wind that formed into a tornado and KO'ed his opponents?:good ...It had nothing to do with his Boxing IQ or his pin point punches? what about his viscious left hook? what about the 5-7 punch combos?....:think :bart

idk he did just make 170 last fight and didnt have problems.

I think he could make 160 these days. He wouldnt be in top form but he could do it. he has always been extremely athletic and never fat. if he hasnt put on much since the tito fight he could make it

    Agreed

Roy might be so weak from making 160 and Floyd could come in 155 or so and have more energy than him and land the cleaner shots. It all depends how Roy would respond the the weight draining.

A young middleweight Roy destroys Floyd though...that's pretty obvious

Roy started @ 160 and beat a 240lb HW...so its out of the question for PBF to want to challenge someone bigger?....yes..pretty dumb to me:dead :think :think :think :think
