PBF w/ dad instead of Uncle Rog in the corner a functional advantage or disadvantage?

Roger definitely. Roger's been there with Mayweather when he fought Augustus, Castillo, Corley, Judah, and Mosley. If it gets to the point where Pacquiao is beating on Jr., Sr. could potentially panic. He has a big ego, he couldn't take Roach one-upping him again. "You're not listening to ME, son!" Which could lead to Jr. losing his cool, losing his focus a little bit.

I went through my archives and decided to binge watch Mayweather and Pacquaio footage this weekend.

For this particular fight... I really do feel that Roger would have been ideal as lead trainer. That's based on the stakes in play AND this particular style match-up.

Sr. he's more defensive oriented and he's good about not letting Floyd overtrain which Floyd does do. Roach's comment was just to shake up Floyds camp. Rodger is too old now and can barely speak. He's slowed down mentally sad to say.

Who cares? It's not as if Floyd is going to fire his pops for uncle just cuz Roach is playing mind games.

What mind games? I didn't have Roach in mind when making this thread at all.

That's what roach said. You mean to say you made this thread not in reaction to what Roach said?

Roger. If Pacquiao decides to dish out some blunt force testicle trauma, Roger can run in the ring and getting a riot going like vs. Judah. :vonne****:stir:fight:ko:boxer:grouphug

If the fights not living up to expectations at least we will get some good old fashioned controversy! :deal

It will make no difference. Mayweather already knows what to do in the ring by himself and rarely needs advice. If you listen to the advice given to him, it's usually basic stuff like "Keep doing what you're doing, keep your distance..etc".

Correct. I don't know or care what Roach said. I don't follow all the BS outside-the-ring drama surrounding either camp as closely as most. In fact I don't even care that we aren't getting a 360 or 24/7 .

I think he is better with Roger in the corner. Either way all Floyd really needs is a familiar voice in the corner but Sr really has a hard time spitting out advice at time in under a minute.

I honestly dont think that in this point of his career, it makes a difference which of the 2 is in his corner. I believe he does a majority of what he does in the ring on his own.
