    Pernell Whitaker - 135
    Aaron Pryor - 140
    Sugar Ray Leonard - 147
    Wilfred Benitez - 147
    Thomas Hearns - 154
    Sugar Ray Robinson - 147
    Henry Armstrong - 147
    Roberto Duran - 135
    Shane Mosley - 135
    Julio C Chavez - 130

I'd also say that vs people like Alexis Arguello and Barney Ross PBF would be 50/50.

Im not even sure PBF could beat a prime Oscar or Prime Mosley as his match with a shot-Dlh was close.

PBF also loses to any decent Middleweight.

I'd also say he loses to Winky Wright and Mike McCallum at 154.

Granted he's a special fighter, and will be an ATG when he retires.

BUT HOW ON EARTH CAN YOU SAY HE'S EVEN IN THE TOP 20 ATG, LET ALONE BEST OF ALL TIME.

Floyd bandwagon needs to stop. Give him credit. But threads saying he's better than Pernell and SRR are ridiculous.

The only conclusion that is certain is Thomas Hearns at 147/154 and SRR at 147.

Floyd can hold his own against the rest of the lot.

Edit - He'll lose to Duran at 135 as well. No shame in that.

Yeah I know theres no shame in losing to those guys, they are the best of the best.

I just wanted to put things into perspective for all the PBF fans and threads that have been on here since the 8th saying PBF was greatest ever etc etc

There a few guys up there that I think PBF has a great shot at beating. He is not a true WW so I agree most of the greats beat him in that weight class. But from 140 below, he is competitive. And I don't think Chavez beats him at 130.

    :dealLook everybody....I am a DUMBA$$!!!!!

You have no evidence for which you are making these claims. You are pitting Today's Fighter vs. Yesterday's legends. Different era and completely different styles. Every boxing writer worth his pen would say that FLOYD is the BEST BOXING TECHINICIAN to grace the ring. That does not make him the greatest of all time however that says something. If the experts declare his ring IQ is unmatched, then how can you say that all of these guys would beat him? Sugar Ray frustrated Duran into quitting and Hearns never beat Sugar Ray clearly (well there was the robbery decision). But wait Duran did beat Sugar Ray so if Floyd could beat one of them, then he could beat all of them right? See how DUMB that just sounded!?

Just let the man enjoy the fact that he has smashed everyone you so called fans have asked him to fight. Now after he beats Cotto, then you'll want him to fight Williams and after he jacks that overhyped giraffe up, then you'll want him to fight that ****** Margarita and after whooping him you'll demand he fight Clottey, Mosley and Berto (who is the only one that has the tools to beat him) all in the same day after having surgery and running 10 miles in the snow!!!! You guys just need something to blast him about and the mods here give you the freedom of typing senseless posts because access to the internet is free!!!! Get off the short yellow bus and go back to work!

Just for the record here is my OPINIONS which is just what they are OPINIONS of what I think could have happen

Pernell Whitaker - 135 Two defensive masters. Floyd had a bigger punch at this weight cause everyone looked liked Thin MINTS with Gloves on. Very realistic for Floyd to catch Pernell and knock him down a few times for being off balance. Floyd Split decision

Aaron Pryor - 140 Minus the "special water", the fight is a draw. Floyd is not Arguello. Ricky Hatton proved that this weekend. Floyd fought twice in one fight; One boxing match and one wrestling match (which I will conceded that He mostly initiated but look who he was fighting, the Manchester Mangler!)

Sugar Ray Leonard - 147 Good Fight, I'd say it would be a toss up. To my knowledge which is limited, styles make fights. You have slick boxer vs. slick boxer. Who can determine that.

Wilfred Benitez - 147 Took to many blows for me. But a great fighter. Spent the first half of his career beating "hotel doormen" and never held the title more than a year and a half. I'll pick Mayweather

Thomas Hearns - 154 - I could see Floyd losing this one due to the fact that Hearns was bigger than De La Hoya is in between fights ha ha ha! And plus Floyd is not 154 lb fighter. Any poster knows that. He had to gain weight just to make the fight with De La Hoya and fought that night at 148 pounds.

Sugar Ray Robinson - 147 This legend had over 202 fights plus the 85 in the amateurs. He faught as many as 5 -7 times a year. I would tend to say that Floyd was better than most of his competition.

Henry Armstrong - 147 Dont get me wrong, Armstrong was the greatest but he fought 181 fights unofficially. Can we name 181 fighters NOW? Where would you put Floyd as far as the TALENT level of the 100 or so different men that Armstrong faced? Top 15% Mid-Level Talent or bottom 15%? If you say Mid Level you are an idiot. If you say bottom you are a dummy. If you say top 15% then you automatically have to give Floyd more than a 40% chance to beat Armstrong?

Roberto Duran - 135 Duran catches him, he wins otherwise he loses.

Shane Mosley - 135 Good fight I would say Mosley by Split Decision

Julio C Chavez - 130 I might have given you this one except for the fact that Meldrick Taylor would have won that fight and you know it. Floyd by Split Decision

I notice that most of the legends had tons of fights. If you strip away the junk fights and just examine each record by how each fighter did against the top ten in each division, then what would each of their records be? Now that would be an interesting project for someone to invest into.

I also notice that alot of this "blasting" is coming from the idea that Floyd has "no heart". Well when someone is talented enough to bring the goods to test his heart, then get at me!
    My lunch is here. Bye

I'd pick Mayweather over Chavez at 130 and Mosley at 135. Both would be very close and competitive fights, but I see Mayweather winning them.

I'd pick the rest over him - especially Hearns at 147

While DLH was past his best when he fought Floyd, I think saying the Golden Boy was"shot" when they fought is a bit of a stretch.
