Was watching some old stuff on Youtube. When you go back and watch those guys when they were at Welter they were truly amazing,I really dont see PBF taking too many right hands from Hearns, that thing was like a rocket launcher........And the speed and rate at which Leonard could turn it up was remarkable....Great fighters:smoke

If Oscar Delahoya gave him a run at this stage Hearns and Leonard destroy him !

Very true, but him and Pyror, Whiataker, Chavez, and Duran would have been good fights to watch. Remember Floyd is not a natural 147er

I don't see why people hold it against Mayweather for not being able to handle the likes of Hearns and Leonard. Not only were they amazing fighters, but considerably bigger than Mayweather.

Should you hold it against Pernell Whitaker, because he'd most likely lose to Mike McCallum or Tommy Hearns?

Or Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera because they'd most likely lose to Floyd Mayweather?

While I don't believe PBF could handle Leonard, I can't say for sure what would actually happen if they fought.

Good thread. No shame in not being able to beat Hearns and Leonard and I agree he'd be right there with some of the smaller guys mentioned. I think he'd beat Pryor and Mayweather-Whitaker would be an amazing technical fight (but not a barburner).

Like I have said before, if you added Pacman's tenacity and stamina to DLH, he would have won by SD or KO over PBF. He showed how you can beat PBF but he ran out of gas to finish the job.

I agree, I think he'd lose a relatively wide decision to Leonard and get Ko'd mid rounds by Hearns. No shame in that, Floyd just doesn't matchup up well with the ATG 147lbers. He is not welterweight and losing to great fighters who a considerably bigger is not that bad, at 130lbs I'd favour him over almost anybody (with Camacho being his toughest test).

I think that Pryor would win and not just because i'm a huge Pryor fan but because when Pryor fought counter punchers he won because he leaves no space in which to counter, also if Whitaker fought Mayweather then Whitiker's goofy defensive style would be able to beat Mayweather's little shoulder roll
