Almost impossible to agree fully with any ranking. I thought Teddy Atlas was backing Trans-national.

Outside the top 10 for sure, probably outside the top 20.

I would take Hughie Fury over everyone from the eighth spot (Hammer) on down.

Subjectively you could be right. Objectively HF has never beaten the sort of fighters Christian Hammer has though.

    What’s Hughie’s best win?

He should be rated top 10 in the UK and fight Price — the guy with no punch vs. the guy with no punch resistance.

Who has Hammer beaten? Teper? That gets you the eighth spot?

You could argue Fury defeated Joseph Parker, who is rated four. Hammer has been stopped or shut out by the names he fought.

It's weird, some guys (like Parker or Ortiz) lose close fights to top names, and they stay at the top. Fury ONLY lost to a top name, and he doesn't make the top 20.

If you watched Fury-Parker and Fury-Sexton you know Fury is a top 10 heavyweight right now. I don't know what fights you'd have to have watched to think Christian Hammer is a top EIGHT heavyweight.

His win against #49 rated Sam Sexton probably, though he beat an early version of Rudenko as well. I don't think he can win at the top 10 level though I agree the heavyweights get very weak past the top 7.

Parker beat Fury fairly easily to me. Hammer is not great I agree but he has better wins, Hammer v Fury is 50/50, the only difference objectively is Hughie Fury has no decent wins he has only beat 1 top 50 opponent that is why he does not make the top 20. Just need to remember the ratings are based on what has happened not what might. Hammer has lost 4 (Tyson Fury was a No Contest) Povetkin, Wladimir are great fighters. Wach is not bad, Bidenko was not the worst but those were earlier. The good thing about Hammer is he fights anyone. Fury has consistently fought low quality opposition. I did watch the Fury-Sexton fight but beating Sam Sexton is not enough in my eyes to subjectively give him a top 10 spot either.
