Tyson gave it more than Tua against Lewis. He did not agree a silent contract. He gave what he could and thus was stopped. I do not see Tua lasting eight rounds with the Lewis he fought, if he made the tactical changes required to give himself a chance of winning.

Better defense, better jab, equal power, faster handspeed, fairly equal chin.

Prime Tyson was a much more complete fighter than prime Tua.

 

He didn't give more than Tua against Lewis. Only reason he didn't agree a silent contract was because Lewis wouldn't let him, and Tyson forgot his skills. He came out charging in the first round, then just slowly gave up after that.

I love Tua but Tyson's a far more complete fighter.

 

What makes you think Tua had better chin than Tyson? Sure, Tua was never knocked out. But, apart from Lewis, who did Tua fight that was on Tyson's level of opposition?

Tua and second Tyson are the same thing.

 

Prime Tyson was 37-0 with 33 KOs. Ibeabuchi was 20-0 with 15 KOs. Tyson cleaned house and beat the best available competition. Ibeabuchi fought David Tua. There's not much comparison, I'd say.

 

Peak Tyson was a better fighter, sharp with good defense, he punches in bunches allied to a solid chin and head movement with controlled aggression. This is a good fight though. If he doesn't stop Tua and he might not, because David had a very good chin, Iron Mike still wins a UD.

 

I do. Tua had one title fight. Against a champion whose own chin was questionable and therefore wasn't going to risk getting knocked out in a fight he was winning comfortably. Tua's chin had never been tested like Mike's

 

KOs alone don't determine chin. When did Tua ever get hit by somebody like Razor Ruddock?
