Funny, I agree with most all of your second to last posting just above re: who hit harder than Tyson.
I did not know that McCal said Lewis hit harder-please send a source if you can-but assume that these physically very different fighters hit about the same.
And I mostly agree with you re: the builds & capacities of Tua vs. Tyson...
Except right between 215-220 is more accurate for Tyson's peak weight, & I do not know that it was impossible Tua could get/look as lean, but it makes sense that likely he & most Samoans have a distribution of subcutaneous vs. visceral fat that make such definition very difficult.

But it is strange that you believe that Bonecrusher, Ruddock & Bruno did not even hit nearly as hard as Tua.
    Why do you believe this?
I think it would be hard to find even one person on this forum who agrees with this statement.

If you chose one, that would be understandable.
But you asserted a premise absent evidence in disagreeing with me.
Keeping in mind that KO's are a poor correlation with power, & many skills including not getting beaten first factor into getting KO's...
And that so many folks testified about how hard that these guys hit (including Tyson about Razor Ruddock, saying "he hits like a fuc*ing mule"...

Why do think Tua hit at all harder than them?
More importantly, it makes sense that you may believe any of these fighters hit slightly harder than the other.
But how on earth can you believe that all, or any, of these 3 do not even hit nearly as hard as Tua?

Maybe saying "not in the same league" was a bit exaggerated. But yes, i think that tua did hit clearly harder

I doubt it. Tua's supposedly devastating power vanished against elite opponents. Throw the Tyson from Rudduck 2 in there with Tua from the Ruiz/Ike fights and I think you're looking at a Tyson UD.

    I wrote it anywhere else.
Its not a good matchup for Mike. They would be leaning at each other, which means that alot of Tysons advantages (as written down in post #1)

    FOOTWORK:MIKE
HAND SPEED: MIKE( BUT TUA HAD FAST EXPLOSIVE HANDS TOO.)
    COMBINATIONS: MIKE
    SKILL:MIKE
    DEFENCE: MIKE
    ACCURACY:MIKE

are thrown out of the window. Tua carrying his power better into the later rounds might make it very close. I have no problem with anybody saying Tua wins this.

OK but i asked why you believe that>You merely repeated the premise
You see here someone just said Tua"s power vanished vs elite opponents
At least his effectiveness was limited against them
But even just in terms of how hard they hit_& i agree tua hit really hard & harder than Tyson>>>

I see no reason to believe he struck harder than those i named
    or old Foreman
    Or Morrison>at least on steroids
Or Ron Lyle or Cleveland Williams or Cooney"s hook or Liston or fuhgettibout Shavers

They & a few others were tens in terms of pure power

I pick Tyson by a decision. But I agree with the thread starter that it would be a battle. Two tough bulldogs scrapping.

It is a stylistical thing. This argument "against ranked rivals" or "elite opponents" is nonsense. John ruiz actually was a world champion in his career despite you like him or not and Tua killed him but he could struggle with some guy who never was a world champ. He would do well against Tyson

Years ago here we had a poster who sparred with old Foreman, Tua, wladimir,Holyfield and Bowe. And he definted well the sensations.
tua fails maybe in versatility and effectiveness sometimes but when he throws hard at the right moment he hits as hard as the hardest . Foreman had the heaviest hands he said.
But yes, i think that Tua is up in the same debate than shavers and foreman

    Ah, we mostly agree.
A poster on another website sparred with all of those guys-except Wlad I think-& described Foreman as having that disorienting, body moving clubbing power.
But he-& your guy-did not seem to say Tua hit the very hardest.
I believe young Foreman hit a little harder, & Shavers-on the bases of testimony of sooo many-Holmes, Young, Cobb, Lyle, Tillis offhand, & the eye test-seems to hit the hardest.
Though I wonder if some rare SHW guys surpassed him or not...

Our only difference of opinion is that I am saying Bonecrusher, Ruddock & Bruno-for all their flaws-had absolutely elite 1 punch power too.
