peak frazier vs peak marciano

  1. it would be a great fight,.:think frazier was bigger, 20 pounds heavier, he had faster legs, he was more mobile, he had great stamina, great heart, he had a shot gun in the left hand, he was better body puncher, he had better bobbing and weaving, he was more aggressive, he was more skilled.
marciano had great stamina, great heart, he had great power in both hands, he was harder puncher with the right hand, he had good power to recover but ( he was not proved against a puncher as frazier). marciano was shorter. he was smaller but he did show great physical strength for his size.
they both had good chin, but frazier was proved against stronger men.

i think that frazier woul take this by sd.

My money would be on Frazier. He had faster hands and much better punching accuracy. Every time Rocky would throw a wild swing and miss, Frazier is gonna counter with those left hooks to the head or body.

However, both men are so close in height that they would find themselves bobbing and weaving into each other's punches. Because of this, it is highly plausible that Frazier would get hurt by Rocky, especially on the inside. But I pick Frazier to win by knockout or stoppage because of cuts.

Frazier was bigger and had a tremendous workrate, but Rocky was the more damaging puncher IMO. He hit anything and everything, and routinely ruptured blood vessels doing so. A man was never the same after going against Rocky.
This would be a war of attrition to say the least. The comparable stamina and tenacity of these two nullify each other. The tiebreaker is who inflicts the more damaging punches. I think that is Marciano, who I see taking this one by late TKO. Marciano would be worn out himself, but Frazier would've ultimately gotten the worst of it.

    Frazier is overrated IMO

    Marciano by late tko.

Many of the old timers who saw both men in their primes feel that Rocky would win. Though I feel that Joe would win this fight, I think it speaks volumes that the people who saw them both fight generally go with Rocky.

Frazier of 1970 or 1971 hammers Marciano of 1951 to 1953 in a time machine.

Marciano is not thrwoing "wild swings", he just doesn´t give a f*ck where he hits you to break you down.

I go with Rocky. I´m a bigger fan of Frazier but I always though that Marciano´s bigger power, more two-handedness and Frazier beeing able to be timed would lead to a late stoppage for Marciano. Rocky would hurt him early when Joe is still warming up but Joe get´s up and when he is warmed up he puts in great work and wins the rounds but Rocky starts to time him again in the midrounds and his power begins to tell. In the late mid-rounds he starts to hurt Frazier again, Frazier´s still game and hangs in there but looks hurt, swollen and pretty much beaten. Somewhere between the 11th and 13th the fight get´s stopped.

I go with Marciano by KO in the second half of the fight; but it could go either way, and it might go the distance if both guys get beat up (possible). I think Joe needs to out box Rocky, evade the right and fire back with the left; but Rocky could hurt Joe with either hand. If Joe gets too focused on Rocky's right that would be bad; not focused enough, that's also bad. Not an impossible task, but it's cutting things very fine. I believe that Frazier needs to make the more perfect fight in order to prevail.

Two tough swarmers who could travel the long haul. Unless Joe's caught early on,I see it lasting till the latter rounds when a bloodied Rocky is pulled out of there. Joe's face would be swolen. Both winner and loser would get a standing ovation,as the crowd had been thrilled from start to finish.

:goodthat version of joe was awesome

  13. yes, i think that this one would have been one of the most pretty fights ever.

  14. good points, but you are talking like if only rocky could hurt to the other man. frazier would be the bigger man here, the size is not all yes, but frazier was a great fighter too, equal stamina, equal heart if not more, a great left hand and he was around 25 pound heavier. frazier was more compact and he could well put down rocky early as well.
