Correct. JMM's defence is very good, but not good enough to not get stopped vs. Sanchez and that's not very early. I think a prime JMM beats Barrera and I have him winning 2 fights over Pac, but I think he loses to Morales somewhere 8 rounds to 4, a lot of people may agree with that statement. He doesn't have the skill and timing of Sanchez, despite being one of the best timers around today. Sanchez goes underlooked, I really can't think of anyone I'd favour over him at 126, someone like Marquez with his own vulnerabilities would be destroyed, as would Pacqauio and Barrera in their 126 versions. Just my opinion.
:thinkI feel JMM's punch variety, speed, power and toughness would be enough to give Sal problems. Not to mention you have a great trainer in Nacho cornering him. I am very interested in why you feel that way Amsterdam.
Has Marquez ever dominated top competition? When he finally recieved his step up(long overdue), his defence has been less apparant. An A class elite fighter, but vulnerable also, Sanchez would be landing at a much higher rate than either Pac or Barrera.
Based on what? Manny Pacquiao's style is poison for JMM. If we go by what should have happened JMM should not have lost in about 10 years. Chava would not have been tested by any other fighter during this time near as much as a peak JMM would have done other than possibly a smart, peak Morales that chose to pick his spots to brawl instead of box. JMM is a class boxer and Chava would meet someone who could time his punches just as well as him and have better accuracy with his combinations. The only problem I see is JMM having a very good chin instead of a great one. This might get him in trouble and cost him some points.
Had Pat Cowdell ever dominated top opposition before losing a close Split Decision to Sanchez? Sanchez was better than JMM yes, and while Sanchez had better defense, he was by no means un-hittable, and with Marquez's punch variety and timing, I think it'd be a very interesting counter-punching matchup. One I'd favor Sanchez in due to his defense, movement, and chin. But I'd say Marquez's countering skills are comparable, and that he's shown enough heart and resilience to last in there. I wouldn't argue with a later KO for Sanchez, but I'd argue against it not being competitive. I think this fight would be great to watch.
Not true, especially with Barrera. Barrera has the experience to land at a high percentage even at this point. His workrate has dropped but he still has some speed and is a very very smart fighter, he is a master at seeing openings.
I think this would be very competitive actually, but I might be overestimating Marquez. Both counterpunching masters who would be trying to figure each other out. Add that to the fact that neither are/were very fast starters for the most part. I do believe that Sanchez would grind him down though and eventually take control of the fight. I see him making Marquez fight in close, landing more shots, and stopping him anywhere from 10-15.
Also Pac possesses more power and speed than Chava with a left hand that Marquez has shown to be vulnerable too, so an early KO is less likely.
Morales did have a style to hurt many fighters. He showed this against Junior Jones and Zaragoza but I don't think too many people can stop JMM at 126.
AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA One vote for Marquez...and guess who....PacD! OMG IM CRYING RIGHT NOW!!! This is hilarious!
:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:roflThat is just too damn much:---(wow, he's kinda like the Hulk only when PacD gets madder, he gets stupider.
