Bugner. Hes the 9th best HW of the 70s the greatest modern era of HW. Berbick might have the same rank in the 80s he might be just outside of the top 10. Berbick is the more accomplished fighter though. He was world champ and got the USBA/Commonwealth double which is a rarer feat than the Commonwealth/EBU double Bugner won. Doesn't mean Berbicks the better fighter but hes got the better trophy room.
Bugner on points at their bests, Bugner wasn’t as successful because he was in a much better era all around, and in his prime, he’d do a lot better in the early-mid 80s, he even beat a few of those top guys whilst past his best at like 36-37.
Its funny if some alphabet person wanted to rank Bugner 10th in 1998 he deserved it more than Crawford bleeping Grimsley. Looking at it wow Bugners 80s resume isn't THAT much worse than Berbicks.
Berbick at his best outhustles Bugner and wins a decision. I'm more impressed with Berbick beating undefeated versions of Page, Thomas, and beating Tate than anything Bugner did in regards to wins.
I think I would rather have electrodes placed on my scrotum than watch this fight if someone could get a genie to conjure it up, but a tentative nod to Berbick.
