Peak Joe Joyce vs top heavies today

He never got Zhanged because Zhang may very well be the hardest hitter in the division and Joyce had decent feet when he was younger, a good jab and a better chin, thats why he beat Dubois instead of getting mauled. Zhang destroyed it and Joyce is now 40. Why are you acting like none of this declined Joyce ? Dude lost to a shot Chisora, he ain't the same. He's not a top contender anymore, he was good enough to stop Parker at his peak. Parker had never been stopped before or since

 

i dont buy it. im not gonna go against what my own eyes tell me.
but for arguments sake, give me an example of the better footwork and jab he had before, which i apparently missed. and why is zhang the hardest hitter, cause he could catch joyce clean? or was it wilders granite chin that proved it? who else worth mentioning has he stopped? and duboise is hardly a complete fighter himself, who got his face broke while leading on the cards.
im sure joyce is a heck of bar room brawler, but he was never going to be the man in boxing. hes half a fighter.

If your logic were correct, Joyce should be beating some fringe contenders and competing with top 10 opponents like he did Jennings, Parker, Dubois. But the reality is he will never beat another top contender, because he is shot and physically declined.

 

top contender means crap in todays hw division. full of homer simpsons, circus fat men, and senior citizens. and they all suck so bad, that they will end up trading belts around once usyk gives em up. everyone gets a belt. they suck so bad that wlad is actually asking himself why he isnt still champ and looking for a reason to come back.

 

But the topic IS today's division. Regardless of how you think of the era Joyce is shot, he's done at the contender level. That is very obvious, unless he somehow beats Hrgovic

 

wouldnt change anything on my end. i would have picked hrg even before zhang placed joyce in his level. joyce is just not good, never has been. how he got as far as he did reinforces what i think of the division as a whole, its subpar. with the right plan, you can beat any of them. because none of them is complete enough to adapt to your plan.
