So, you're 18 comments into your first and only stay on this board? Or are you an ALT come along to stir sht up on tired old topics? Hmmmm...
Nope. If he fights a modern HW that is big, I will probably pick him to win on points in a very tough match. He can even loose, although he's more likely to win.
If Rocky lasts four rounds he's going to nail Mike somewhere along the line. The longer it lasts the more I like Rocky. Mike's stamina is erratic. Rocky's is proven. Couldn't Rocky punch as hard or harder than Buster or Evander? Rocky and Charley Goldman will devise a plan. They'll train for a war expecting to win. Marciano hit his physical peak in the Louis encounter. That 27-year-old Rocky would stand a chance against 1988 Mike. Tyson would be solidly favored but I see Rocky successfully using his strength to move Tyson backward. Mike finds himself against the ropes at least twice in every round. At 3-1 odds, Rocky's not a bad pick.
Most 'modern heavyweights' are bums. Overweight doesn't necessarily mean fat, an overly muscular fighter can be 'overweight' in a boxing context. Fury's a fat bum. Wlad and Vitali are slow as hell. Lewis had no courage and didn't really beat anybody. They're all overrated if you ask me.
Rocky has no advantage here. He's vastly slower, weaker, worse balance, not as strong or as powerful, 25-30 pounds less in weight, weaker chin ... He gets lit up like a Xmas tree in Times Square.
Tyson did well against opponents who backed away from him, so then he could run and leap at them. Rocky would be glued to him for the entirety of the fight. That gives the fight a different dynamic, Tyson didn't do well when fighters came at him persistently.
