I'm approaching a fight as well, but I'm not planning on cutting down until the last week. Right now it's still 7 days a week. I'll probably take one or two rest days before the fight itself, unless my trainer has different plans.

If you're used to training every day, you shouldn't take a break the day before the fight. Then it gets harder to get the body started on the fight day.

It's very individual (it's boxing, you know). I fought yesterday and even had a training session on the same day. Just did about 20 minutes warm up and stretching and then 10 minutes shadow boxing with high tempo spurts with long breaks in between.

Lately I've been training like normal, but when it's 4 or 5 days left I raise the tempo, but lower the lengths of the work time. I don't take myself much out, I always go from the training with a good feeling that I have plenty of energy building up in my body. And it's been working very good. :good

I normally take one or two full days off before a fight. I've noticed it helps alot with strength and what not.

Maintain intensity but reduce the volume of your training leading up to fight night. Use the last couple of days to go over your strategy, apply it through shadowboxing drills and keep lose with light gpp drills and dynamic stretching.
