I just finished swimming and I was hungry so I ate a bag of peanuts. Do you guys think peanuts are ok?
Saulted peanuts have a very high content of saturated fat, Nearly three quaters of the calories come from fat and saturated fat makes up 25 percent of that.
Peanuts aren't bad for you if you eat them in small amounts. Just read the labels on foods before you eat them.
Nut fats generally arent that bad. Some can actually help you lose weight, in that some tend to be linoleic acid. Veggie and nut oils tend to be omega 3's. Aid in helping joint, heart and eye health. Just don't eat a ton of them.
That is actually a very low saturated fat content, an alternative way of reading it would be that 75 percent is (poly) unsaturated. A healthy source of fats is salmon, which still has almost 50 percent of saturated fats. You need saturated fats as well, as long as you eat enough unsaturated fats they will not clog up your arteries or your cells. It does not need to be 100% unsaturated to be liquid at body temperature. The calories should be seen as any other calorie, they're not more or less fattening. Only the salt is a real issue.
Nah, not all calories are the same.. If you were to do something like, eat 300 calories worth of pure oils, or fats, it would take you longer to burn them than it would for you to burn 300 calories worth of protien. Wierd I know, but its true. Basically, if you were to eat 1000 calories of pure protein, you would burn more of those calories in 6 hours than you would say 1000 calories of carbs.. There would be excess, I'm just using them for the sake of comparing.. The order goes, Protein, Carbs then fats.. I can give a link to an article if anyone is interested.
nah, they come out looking the same as they went in (kinda like corn), so obviously your body isn't absorbing any calories from them
Arent you the guy that complained after gaining pounds over the holidays? Now, you eat a BAG of peanuts after you swam? I'm at a loss for words as to how contradictory your goals and disipline are.
