Shaw, who promotes Holt, won the IBF's purse bid by dropping the minimum amount of $50,000.

Seen that somewhere. I gotta believe this means they couldn't get TV money for this fight. I guess Pederson will be fighting for journey man type money if he stays in boxing.

Can someone explain to me the final details of a purse bid please?

Where does that £50k purse bid go? Does that have to be split between both fighters.?

When you have a champion/mandatory the purse split is dictated. I think 70/30 but that could vary by org. But yeah, the purse goes to the fighters and they pay the expenses out of that. Training expenses, cutman, promoter, manager, trainer, etc.....

    Thanks.

That's pretty shitty having to split £50k. By the time they pay their tax, trainers fee & other expenses their is **** all left.

Can the fighters still refuse to fight for that sort of money?

If Pederson refuses he gets stripped. Holt would lose his mandatory position.

Pederson won't be asking for extra testing on that purse. Not enough to cover it :rofl
