I picked Pedraza on points so hats off the Davis for not only winning the title but also getting the stoppage, if the kid can work on his stamina issues, be more committed to the jab he can become a very good fighter. Impressive stuff on his first step up fight really happy for him. With that being said Pedraza looked like an absolute moron with the style he chose to use, he completely neglected his jab and footworl, what thought would have been key to beating Davis. He would continuously go on the inside not throw anything whilst dipping low and swinging from left to right, taking a lot of shots. He got drawn into a macho man type fight but he didnt have the power to hang with tank not to mention he barely threw in any of the rounds except two. Foolish game plan, he completely let that slip he's not as slick as he thinks he is. He needs to go work on his fundemenetals and discipline if hes to come back better.
Pedraza and DeGale both surprised me with the way they approached their fights. Neither of them seemed to of trained to use some of the physical advantages they had, Both just seemed to want to stand right in front of their opposition which is the last thing i expected either of them to do.
While I agree Pedraza could of done better, I take no credit away from Davis. Pedraza never impressed me, he'd get beat by any of the elite at 130.
Your spot on, I couldn't believe the tactics, they both just stood around on the inside tryna weave and bob but not counter or go to the outside and pot shot & move which was a good tactic
