Hey guys, thought I would put a post up there for a guy I know pretty well. He fought in the 1980's. Pedro Alindato. I have worked out with him on and off for roughly 6 years. Great guy, who had a really tough childhood. He battled an eating disorder for his entire pro career. He must have been pretty talented to be trained at Cus D"mattes gym. Nice guy, with a different set of training methods. I have seen the guy spare a Michael Faragon and he did really well for being almost 50. I really wish they could find a well to help fighters in there post fighting careers.

Well i see he was a solid journeyman and had a draw and a split decision loss to Kenny Mitchell.. Mitchell was a speedy Bantamweight contender in the 80s.

Also see he beat Thigpen who was a good puncher and i believe ESPN champion of one of their tournaments.

Im assuming he's from Durango,Mx with that nickname?

By the way are you Kenny Mitchell?

I saw him a couple times he was a little speed demon and much better than his record indicated.

still fast as hell for almost 50. I have seen him spar 12 rounds with guys and not breath hard. He had really bad eating disorder which contributed to his record. He has spared with Tony Marshall and Kevin Pompey, 2 pretty well know local fighters.

I had forgotten that Kenny has 3 big wins over former champions Gaby Canizales,Julio Gervacio and Kelvin Seabrooks... He was also matched very tough early on in his career thats another reason for his so so record.,

I know I'm late to this thread. I actually registered just for this thread.

What's Durango been up to? I used to train with him at the Y on Washington, before moving on to a couple other gyms in the area with better sparring/competition.

I heard that YMCA was getting shut down, and the first thing I thought about was Durango. He's a really positive guy who taught me a lot about the mentality of being a fighter. I was always worried about him though, because he doesn't know how to do anything but box, and he didn't have it together enough to build up a solid amateur team.

That cruddy run down racquetball court turned boxing gym is all he had.
