    I doubt he's serious.

Though when you think about it, no opponent has ever really finished stronger or than Floyd or at the same pace, besides a rare few that were in his face until the end...maybe their plan is to switch gears late enough to confuse or discomfort him. The longer they can avoid a final counter-adjustment, the better.

There's no strategy to give any rounds away. I posted (a translated) quote in context in the second page of this thread. He's not talking about giving any rounds away. Cotto could train just as hard as Mayweather, and it wouldn't mean he's as fresh as Floyd in the later rounds. Floyd is obviously one of the hardest workers in the sport, but part of the reason he has great stamina is because he's so natural and relaxed in the ring. Add to that he's not always going 100% in every round while taking the opponents gas away (with body shots like jabs and starights to the belly and making them miss), and you have a remarkable fighters who's almost as fresh in the last round as he was in the first.

Cotto needs to win every round he can possibly get, and I'm pretty sure that's what they'll be working on.

I expect a lot of suprises and i'm picking Cotto to win. I think people are underestimating Cotto too much and I think there expecting the old Cotto but I don't think that's gonna happen, I think he's gonna suprise a lot of people. Preparation is everything because of the muscle memory. Your only gonna fight the way you train, and that's the bottom line.

The rounds really don't matter. I think Cotto is way overmatched, and will lose the majority of the rounds (maybe win a couple hopefully). EVEN *IF* he won the fight though, even if he won every round, there's absolutely no way he gets the decision against Mayweather.
I really hope Cotto and team are going straight for the knock out! If not then theres no point in fighting mayweather.
