Where do you rate him amongst today trainers? I didn't know much about him prior to his first fight w/ cotto but Im really starting to like this guy. Top 5 for me.
I must have missed something here how is he top 5 or even 10 for that matter what has he done? Lead Cotto to stopping a shop worn past his prime no eye having Margarito? Other than that he has lead Cotto to two losses as well.... So whats he really done?
bull****...fight was playing out just like the first huge cotto fan, but he was saved that night...it wasn't margo vs cotto that night...it was margo vs cotto/NY/PR
And let me ask you how significant is a win over Margarito especially at that stage of his career?:think
The guy hasn't had a lot of experience in the pros yet but they question was based on what we've seen and learned about him as a trainer. The guy is clearly intelligent and IMO is a very good trainer.
I don't see your point? I didn't claim he was amongst the best, so I don't see why you would come back with that sort of response. If you don't see that his methods are good (whether successful at the minute or not, or successful in the future or not) then I don't know what to say. The trainer can get the boxer in the best shape (physically, technically and mentally) as possible, with a gameplan to suit, but only the boxer can get in the ring. Both trainers and boxers have limitations. I will state that his methods and techniques are very strong in particular areas.
I see what your saying, no doubt it looks like he knows what he's doing but I think trainers should be rated by their results.
