Pedro Guevara is a 5'4 26 year old Light Flyweight with a 25-1-1 17 KO's record. Born in and fighting out of Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico. This tiny little handsome Mexican Flyweight has been on one hell of a roll in the last year or so, aside from a draw with Mario Rodrigues and a SD loss to the underrated Filipino Johnriel Casimero he had a fairly spotless record. But after contemplating retirement after a few decent wins he's kicked it into overdrive by scoring a KO of the usually durable Akira Yaegashi in the 7th round, 2 whole rounds quicker than Chocolatito and he followed that up a little later with a first round body shot KO of the undefeated knockout artist prospect Richard Claveras. He doesn't have the typical Mexican temperament when it comes to boxing, he has decent ring generalship and effectively uses his jab and boxes his opponents at a distance, not like many come forward Mexican brawlers in the division. If he keeps winning he's going to put himself in contention for a shot at one of the top dogs sooner or later. So Take a Look a Pedrin In Accion.:toney:toney:toney:toney

My most unsuccessful threads hit wise are Mexican fighters and Flyweights, this is a combination of the two, only 60 hits so far, total failure.:patsch:lol:

This is a great thread! I expect great things from Pedrin! Even now I still watch his fight against Yaegashi.
He should be way more popular I think.
I wonder how he'd do against Gonzales...

I bet he'd do better than people think he would they should make that match pronto. Would he win, doubtful but he'd be a good opponent.

Oh definitely. He did beat Yaegashi faster than Roman but if the 2 fought, it'd be a war and would love it if they made it. Looking forward to his next match too.

Nice interview too. I have the only comment on it lol

Sorry, I forgot to peak into this thread and leave a comment. I think I saw this dude on Boxeo Telemundo or Solo Boxeo... To be honest, I've been trying to keep up with the cruiserweights more lately. Hard to follow so many damn divisions. I used to not follow cruiserweights and heavyweights for this very reason.

Unification with winner of Nietes/Rodriguez Jr. on the horizon, maybe?

For some reason, I keep thinking Nietes is going to get old overnight. He's only 33, but a lot of these smaller boxers don't age well like the bigger boxers. He has a damn good, underrated win over Moises Fuentes. Hard for me to pick against Nietes right now; although, I haven't seen his last two fights. I'm definitely keeping an eye on his defense against Rodriguez Jr.

Hm... I probably should take out underrated because he did get the Ring title from that win. I'm thinking more Boxrec having him under Guevara; although, it goes by a numbers game.
