Pedro General Taduran, Jr. born 10/29/1996 is a 5'4 Minimumweight with a 14-2-1 record. Born in Libon, Albay, Philippines and fighting out of Valenzuela City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Ding, Ding, Seek & Destroy, there you go, no further explanation needed. Okay, maybe I will.. Yeah, he has two losses already, but so what, that happens in the lower divisions, hell are you going to hold that against Pacquiao or Donaire? He took a SD loss in a 6 rounder when he was 19, who knows how legit that loss was, no one has seen it, so it may be questionable. The other loss was against the one and only TBE Wanheng Menayothin, which IMO he did more than enough to get a draw, or a close win if it weren't for the scumbag ref docking him two points, meanwhile letting Wanheng hold all he wanted. But regardless, losing to a long time champ in your division at 21 is nothing to be ashamed of, who cares. He continues to improve with every performance, bring non stop pressure, but intelligent pressure from the southpaw position, stomping through the ring like a pint sized Godzilla planting his feet and unleashing straight left cruise missiles one after the other. He might not be the most technically proficient fighter, but damn is he fun to watch, damn is he a monster, and damn does he bring the mayhem and occasionally bloodshed. I got it even after 4 tho it seemed like taduran was getting into second gear by the start of 4 and with that cut on valledares i don't think he would've last. I would like to see him against argumendo or saludar(if they want a cheaper opponent with world level experience)
I had the Valladares fight 39-37 for Taduran. I don’t think the draw is that bad but that card for Valladares, I don’t agree with. Even without the cut, I don’t think Valladares was going to last in there. Taduran was throwing more and landing more. He also had more power and he was landing some flush ones in the last two rounds. That cut was actually Valladares’ saving grace. Taduran is so fun to watch. He has decent inside defense for an all-out action fighter. I’d love to see him chase WBO champ Wilfredo Mendez all around the ring, eventually catch him, and beat him to a pulp. All that dude does is run. Haven’t seen his fight with Saludar but I’m assuming that’s the only way he beat him and who knows if that decision was fair, it being in PR. Saludar isn’t as effective when being forced to lead but that’s what Pedro does for a living.
Good action fight. The pace was hectic. And looked like it didn't phase Taduran. Valladares was feeling it though.
Hopefully there's a rematch or guys like Argumedo, Rojas, Joyi, Saludar, Jerusalem and Konkco next on the cards for him.
Yeah, I agree, watching it again on YT, a draw wasn't all that egregious, but there was no way Valladares was going to see the final bell, he was running on fumes by the fourth, I think he'd have probably passed out from exhaustion even if Pedro hadn't found the KO shot. Mendez's style sickens me, I'd love nothing more than to see Pedro throttle him and he would get to him eventually, and sooner rather than later IMO.
Wow. Didnt expect an upset but i also remember you saying a few years back that Taduran is a stylistic nightmare to shigeoka. Great call
Great call as usual @CST80 . Great to see Philippines winning another world title. This guy has me interested in watching more of his fights now. Seems like an aggressive little fighter that just marches forward and throw nonstop punches.
