Pedro Taduran retained his IBF belt by knocking out Mexican Gustavo Perez Alvarez in the 7th round. Perez Alvarez had been knocked down twice in round 5, once in round 6, and a final time in round 7. It was a one-sided fight, with all three judges scoring it 57-54, 57-54, and 59-52.
